Just another way to put us in our place. Yea, you're a good team... for a mid-major. 01-lauramac2

LOL...There is a very simple solution.

WKU MBB Budget $2.6M
Kentucky MBB Budget $13.6M
Louisville MBB Budget $16.7M

When SBC and CUSA programs start devoting the resources, facilities and start winning the hardware in MBB that their in state power conference brethren have then they will not have to worry about tags.

Kentucky and Louisville also are able to draw 20,000+ by playing in a non-campus venue partially owned by the city or county. In the end, baskets win games, not money.

Were you making my point for me? 04-cheers

There's not another poster on this board that as full of sh*t as you. You think you know everything or at least you comment on just about everything but actually...you know little to nothing

spending as much as the "state" school doesn't make you major or mid major and neither does winning national championships. If that were the case only a handful would be "major"

Look bud, you should move to decaf. You are not an SEC or Big East school but anyone's stretch of the imagination except what its in your head. Posted an article and as usual you have spout off. That's why kicking your tail is so fun. I cant wait until you are put in an SBC air lock and shot into space. The only thing that saves you from winning the most delusional fan base award is that L word lives.

Dude do not fret, I kick the sh1* out of that mid major crap when the UL Softball team was ranked that way. We were NO. 1 Mid Major, but in reality were No. 15 RPI. I did like the 15 better than know your place 1, but you go ahead and enjoy that mid major crap. Some day you will recognize the slap in the face as a slap in the face.

I want us to build an 8k seat arena and be perennial sub 40 RPI and top 25 in football. Make no mistake. I want to be Louisville. Period.

Neither for or against. Pointing out comparing the situations at Louisville and Kentucky are unique and can't be compared. That is why they have such a huge budget. Were any SBC school even selling out their venues consistently, you could make a claim about bigger budgets, but when SBC schools as a whole average around 2,200-2,500, then the budgets will be what they are.

Wichita State has been averaging over 10K a game in basketball, is ranked number 5 and is still 'mid major'. Bet they be no. 1 in mid major poll.

Jesus, people, he posted a link to a poll, that some people pay attention to, and that includes a current SBC member. Folks just can't wait to drop a load on other people around here. Are our egos really that fragile?

Look at it this way, I would not be happy if my team were so classified, was not happy in an important sport to me at UL. I would be a hypocrite to say way to go about this lame poll. It was lame for us, and yes I think it is lame for them. They are much better than that stupid poll.

Don't know why everyone is in a tissy about this. It's just a website that puts together some stupid poll. No, it doesn't mean anything. But do any rankings mean anything in basketball?

I see polls like this as a guide to tourney time. These are the mid-majors you need to watch out for in late March.

Also, I see the classifications as helpful. It's more significant if UL or WKU or GSU beat a "high major" or "power" conference team because we aren't recognized as being on the same level. Creates more pub for us when it happens.

This is one of the reasons I love college basketball so much. The Mid-Majors are typically just as competitive, comparatively, as the power conferences. And then the champions get to prove themselves against a field stacked against them in March. The "Cinderella" (a.k.a. mid-major) is a key component of college basketball.
