Rankings Through Four
I know conference play is extremely early, but I am going to take my best shot at ranking the 12 teams through games played so far.
1. Toledo - Slipped up at WMU, but still seems to be the best.
2. Ohio - I want to put UB here, but I think it is Ohio's spot to lose.
3. Buffalo - playing very well in conference and could be 4-0 if it wasn't for a buzzer beater at Toledo.
4. Akron - Thought their game against UT would be closer.
5. EMU - Big win at home vs. WMU.
6. Kent St - Struggled at Buffalo, but they will be in every game this year and will fight for a potential bye.
7. WMU - I know they lost at home to BG, but they were still able to knock off Toledo and will be a hard to team to beat.
8. BG- They won both of their games this week so while this spot might change, they have earned it as of now.
9. Miami - Playing better and they are 2-2 in conference.
10. NIU - Beat BG on the road and should have taken down Kent St at home. A much improved team this season.
11. CMU - Struggling in conference, but not as bad as Ball St.
12. Ball St - Only one win since late november and it was Oakland City.
Thoughts?? Feel free to rip my rankings...

RE: Rankings Through Four
Haven't see Ohio yet...but I was impressed by Buffalo. Really gave Toledo fits for about 2/3 of the game before the Rockets started to get things going, and even then needed the afore-mentioned last second shot. So, for now, I think Ohio and Buffalo should both be listed as #2

RE: Rankings Through Four
hard to argue any order of the top 7 at this point if you go by just conference games.
I've seen Buffalo a couple of times this year and they've looked good. I would give the Bulls the slight edge over Ohio in regards to who has the better conference resume through 4 games. Both teams have wins over Kent State and NIU with Buffalo's wins both at home and Ohio's wins both on the road, but UB's third win is home against EMU which is more impressive than OU's road win at Ball State. UB's loss on a buzzer beater at Toledo is also more impressive than OU's 2OT loss at home to Akron. But, if you factor in the non conference schedule I'd give OU the edge with 3 top 100 RPI wins to UB's 2, and that loss to #306 Niagra by the Bulls sticks out as a bad loss.
The good news is there's still a ton of games left be played.

RE: Rankings Through Four
I can tell you that EMU will help sort out the top tier in a hurry.
We have Akron and Ohio at home this week. And then at Akron (2/5) and Kent (2/8) at home.
By Feb 8 EMU will be a legitimate contender or exposed as a pretender.
[Later Toledo (2/15) in Ypsi (then @UT the last day).]
