RE: Breaking Broncos
Nice article!
Only minor quibble... though our next series is against Minnesota-Duluth, it's next week, not this week.

I would post a reply, but Candass had me banned for questioning her journalist integrity. She is good at catching spelling errors, but doesnt understand what a pun is

I got banned from that site for calling out paula weston once. WMU and Somebody else were fighting for first place one weekend, and her ENTIRE column was about the ONE game UM and (last place)MSU were playing that weekend

It's a start. We may need to add several more to the unbeaten streak to make a dent in some people's minds.
Remember that in Blashill's season we needed a 14 game unbeaten streak to get ranked.

We don't necessarily need a streak and definitely not that many. We keep playing our game, the W's will come and so will the quality wins.

RE: Breaking Broncos
Given our 'tale of two (half) seasons' with our lousy start, we can't afford any more bad losses. I'm not saying that we need a huge long unbeaten streak. Just win the next two at home against UMD. That's a start.
There are 36 points still available for the Broncos to take. Just like the past few seasons, every point will be important in the end. TAKE them.

CAUTION! Realize that none of the games listed are a lock! Not even CC!
Wow is this a tough league. No simple sure victories....and although St Cloud is gone for now....I really fear ND! In any case, all the teams make the league play-offs and the only fight is for home ice....top four. Hey....are the initial playoffs best of three? As for the pairwise and NCAA's could be tough and I suggest maybe we can only afford to lose 2 or 3 of these last games...although I don't really know how it works.

I don't believe that anybody is taking anything for granted. Nothing is guaranteed and the coaches know that this league eats its own. Protect the home ice and grab some wins on the road.
Respect everybody, prepare accordingly and fear nobody. Play as they are capable and the rest will take care of itself.
We can't have a poor second half like last year and so far, we aren't. The MOST important game is the next one.

But let's just get it out there. I'd much rather that we don't go into that last series at UND needing points desperately.

I don't fear ND at all. We totally dominated them and with a little better tending and maybe some puck luck, we should of swept them. Can't wait to watch the final NCHC series in Grand Forks.
We need to win 9 of the remaining 12 to lock up a top four seed and host the first round of best of three
Pairwise will be a stretch for this team, so the focus to get to the NCAA is to win the conference tournament.
I don't fear any of these teams come playoff time, so who we play doesn;t really matter to me. I just dont want this team to go on the road and play in Denver for the best of 3. CC will most likely travel to the #1

RE: Breaking Broncos
Pairwise isn't that much of a stretch though. The Hockey East and ECAC have a TON of teams in the top 20. With non-conference play pretty much over, the battle between the teams should knock a few out and some of the "stronger" Midwest and Western teams should be able to play their way into the picture.
Of course, the easiest way into the tournament is like you said, win the NCHC tournament. However, an at-large bid shouldn't be too unobtainable. Remember, this team was around 34th just 2 weeks ago in the Pairwise

They are moving up because of the win over MI and tie/win over SCSU. The problem is from here out, WMU doesn't play any more top #10 ranked teams.
Same problem, but from the opposite prospective, as HE has a lot of top #10 ranked teams. While they may trade off wins with each other, you wont see a lot of movement with those teams up/down, unless they were to lose to an un-ranked teams
Sweep at home, spilt on the road is the formuala/expectations from here on out and hope for some un-ranked teams to knock off some top 10 teams from HE and/or ECAC

Yeah, as the NCHC goes, we don't have a ton of movement up in-conference:
St. Cloud is #8 - done with play against them.
North Dakota is #19.
Denver is #23.
Minnesota Duluth is #25.
Nebraska Omaha is #30.
Miami is #30.
Colorado College is #51.
Our best hope is that anyone they've played non-conference does really well, which'll drag them up and - hopefully - us up as well, provided we continue to win.
