A simple easy way to determine additional money to players
The Student loan program already does it with FAFSA form.

Make the extra money need based the same way student loans are.

My kids when in college received extra money beyond tuition to cover expenses.

This would keep the schools from inflating the amounts to provide a recruiting advantage just because you have a pot full of money.

Also the money would go to those who need it instead of a set amount to every player. The needy kid on the football team gets the extra the rich kid on the tennis team doesn't.

No different than the non-athlete that attends the same school. Those of lower income families qualify for more money in student loans than rich kids.

All you have to do is add a section to the FASFA form for athletes and it
just becomes an additional pool of money available.

Not a bad idea. Won't go over well with the rich schools though imho.

Do you really think that is simple?

I can see the recruits now. Hey LSU, I NEED $3k to come play for you or I am taking my talent to ALABAMA!

Fed aid is available regardless of gender. Can't see a title 9 issue.

Not based on status in sports. Title 9 applies and will gut this.
