If you like tex-mex and getting stuffed full, go to Pappasito's! It's always a must when I visit.

I'd also checkout an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema if you have time. Pretty cool concept that is not here in Memphis. They also have other cinemas around Houston with a similar concept.

For a good beer selection I have heard that the Ginger Man is a good choice.

I used to frequent that place, and it is a good choice. I like the whole ambiance of Rice village.

RE: Houston advice
Berryhill's is also very good Mexican food. My wife talks about their fajitas in her sleep. We like the one in the Heights neighborhood.

Don't do Taco Cabana.

I love the Texas barbecue. The best I found is Big Daddy's, out on the west side of town.

There is also an Italian place out on the west side thats great, called Lasagna House.

Original Ninfa's is highly recommended, but i still prefer Pappasito's.

The Shack in Cypress has amazing burgers.

Don't do the aquarium downtown. The zoo is nice.
