USM should be favored as they are the more experienced team. They have also proven more so far this season. But ODU is improving and is going to make it tough to win at the Ted.

Probably USM -2.5

Derailing this thread but still keeping it on ODU....C-USA did you NO favors in your conference schedule this year to start the season:

first 3 on the road
5 of first 7 on the road

On the flip side though, if you survive the start you are in the driver's seat down the home stretch:

4 of last 5 at home

Exactly. Having to play USM, La Tech and UTEP all at home is rough considering they are likely losses regardless.

As to the line. ODU is 10-5 against the spread and have won 6 of last 7 against spread.

I would place it at USM -2.

Even with ODU playing at home, I think USM will be favored by 5-7.

None of our CUSA games are on TV besides 1 that was on local TV.

I was only counting D1 games.

They had a winning record against D1 teams when ODU played them. They're .500 against D1 teams now though.

Depending on whether you mean current record or record at the time of the game, but ODU beat George Mason, ECU and Florida International when they had winning records. Murray State and FIU have winning records now.

None of which mitigates your implied point, which is that the Monarchs are largely unproven. Likely the only non-conference win against an NCAA tournament team would be Murray State if they win the OVC. But for the sake of pedantry, they do have a couple of wins against teams with records a smidgen bit better than .500.

RPI Forecast has the Southern Miss as a 3.1-point favorite. I'll go a little higher and say the line is 6.

I was looking at current records on WarrenNolan.com which only counts D1 games.

Thank God we'll have Bacote back. We should be able to keep it close, especially if the crowd is rocking.

I would expect a close game. It is so hard to beat a quality team on the road in conference.

I really don't want to hear about lines for the rest of the season.

I'd say -4 to -7 for Southern Miss. What's the largest crowd you've played in front of this season so far?

The Monarchs are fine with being underdogs. No TV, staying under the radar, just fine.

Southern Miss wins by 15 or more.
