Ehh, has this dood ever taken a charge during his time at Memphis? He certainly does wonderful things for this team, but that pansy defense where if I put my arm out the driver will be distracted enough to miss the shot stuff makes me mad. Crawford got absolutely destroyed in that UCONN game.

Well on the sunny side of things, at least I know what his arm looks like in the event I ever need a hand which I have seen it attached to his arm, yeah.

RE: Chris Crawford
Chris wasn’t the only player who didn’t play good defense in the UCONN game. Sometimes he had to close out on 6-9 Daniels when we went zone with little chance of challenging his shot.

At home tonight in Storrs CT in the UConn vs Louiseville game Daniels had 3 points on 1-9 shots.

Yeah I watched that game. Daniels got 2 early fouls in the first half and the remainder of the game it was as though Ms Rudolph put a voodoo spell on him or something.

Dude couldn’t even hold his head up. Weird.

Chris has had a nice career here and seems like a nice kid, but it's true that his defensive effort has been inconsistent at best over the past 4 years. At worst, he's a bad defensive player, at best he takes multiple plays off every single game.

umm, no. He can't even play with the DII league players yet. Seriously, are you posting from Lakeside?

Yah like my old coach used to say some players show up playing all cute because their girls are watching and they don't want to go all monster face. Well Michigan State doesn't seem to do that crap, in fact I've been told that they actually dress out in full football gear and practice with the football players.

PS. this is why I wanted Craft and this is why Geron is so tough. Basketball players who have a history of playing football and/or even track are just tougher.

I am going to be watching Crawford to see if he takes a charge, we have 16 games left I believe. This guy needs to stop taking plays off, really.

He takes plays off, and he gambles. But you can't deny that he flat out forces turnovers. He's been in the top 225 players every year in steal% and 3 out of 4 he's been in the top 100.

There's definitely a give-take with him.

RE: Chris Crawford
none of our guys take charges. If we did we wouldn't get killed in the lane like we have been. Lemoyne-Owen of all teams was making lay up after lay up...if it werent for us putting up 101 on them it would have been a competitive game. Our defense against penetration is pitiful and has got to change or we will continue to lose games. There are too many quick guards in this conference for us to be giving up the lane all the time. Our guys first instinct is to swat at the ball for a steal or jump for the block and its just not working. It worked for DJ last year but he could hang in the air for 30 seconds and wait for the ball to be in the right place so he could block it. That being said it seems that our guards may finally be shooting the ball and if we can improve our defense and not give up so much penetration I think we will win this conference. We have the best team in the conference.

With the rules changes....charges are hard to come by...better to let them go and not pick up 5 fouls real quick. Coaches have said, if you can't block it, let em go.
