We are not in CUSA anymore
We are in a fine and legit basketball conference. I don't understand the concept that Cincy and UConn are bad loses. It was not a surprise to lose to them at least once. I know it was on our home flor but what makes you think we can't return the favor. These are growing pains and you just have to stay patient about it.

They weren't bad losses, but you can't lose to both of them at home, this early in conference play. Means we basically have to beat them on the road now, and we can't afford to have any more slip ups at home. The selection committee loves road wins, and they hate home losses.

In all of college basketball, only 4 times this year a ranked team has lost AT HOME to an unranked team.

Memphis has 2 of those 4 losses.

That is sickening and embarrassing.

The point is, that it's very rare for a ranked team to lose a home game to an unranked team. We have somehow found a way to do it 2 straight games.

Very few teams have played teams like Cincinnati and UConn back to back at home this season. Let's also not forget that Cincy is now ranked.

Of course, those who want Pastner gone are giddy over this...and as Triple A said, were conspicuous in their absence last week after the Louisville and Temple games.

And that's because Pastner didn't do anything to compromise his team during either one of those wins. His poor coaching moves in critical stages cost his team in both of those losses.

In other words, he gets no credit for win and only blame for losses?

I thought he did a nice job in both the Louisville and the Temple game. And others too. But he blew the game last night, in that brief moment, by taking Nichols out and putting in the 4 guard lineup. He did a horrible job vs. Cincy too.

Coaches are highly scrutinized, especially after glaring mistakes. Just the way it is.

Pastner moreso than most. We have people calling for Bruce Pearl to be hired after each and every loss.

Unfortunately Pastner deserves the criticism. Bruce Pearl is a helluva thought. The guy can flat out coach. I'd be all over that, if this job opened up.

I would give up my season tickets were Bruce hired. Josh has improved every season he's been here and so far this has been a pretty damned successful season.

Transitt, you are obviously a helluva nice person. No doubt about that.
But Bruce Pearl would win BIG at Memphis. And,I bet the fan base would fall in love with him.

If you read some of the threads on the UT board you wouldn't really be that thrilled with Pearl

Sad thing about it is fans care more about w's than the coach themselves...just the way it is.

The man used Lorenzen Wright's murder to recruit against Memphis. I helped coach Lorenzen when he was at Memphis. That's all that needs to be said about Bruce Pearl's character.
