Coaches are highly scrutinized, especially after glaring mistakes. Just the way it is.
Pastner moreso than most. We have people calling for Bruce Pearl to be hired after each and every loss.
Unfortunately Pastner deserves the criticism. Bruce Pearl is a helluva thought. The guy can flat out coach. I'd be all over that, if this job opened up.
I would give up my season tickets were Bruce hired. Josh has improved every season he's been here and so far this has been a pretty damned successful season.
There would be plenty of people in line to buy them-

But Bruce Pearl would win BIG at Memphis. And,I bet the fan base would fall in love with him.
The man used Lorenzen Wright's murder to recruit against Memphis. I helped coach Lorenzen when he was at Memphis. That's all that needs to be said about Bruce Pearl's character.
I dont care much for Gary Parrish but I'll repeat what i heard him say last week to those who wanted Pearl as the next Memphis coach - "stupid, alright, you're just stupid"

Josh probably hated us going into this conference. He is now exposed. We should be thankful.

It's almost like teams at the top of Top 5 conferences beat each other all the time.

Yeah, if Pastner is exposed what is Pitino for losing a home game to him?

I agree. It's obvious that Jedi, Geo and Lordy Lordy are aliases. Good luck trying to get them banned.

That was a very tough 4 game stretch that we had, and going into it if someone told you we would make it out being 2-2, most people would have been willing to take it.
We are simply not going to steamroll through the season anymore like these part few years, we are going to have games that just didn't go our way. It happens to everyone.

I agree. UConn is a darn good team after seeing them in person, yes they lost to Houston but they had been ranked most of the season up until a few weeks ago. The 4 kings of this league is Memphis, Louisville, Uconn and Cincy with SMU right on the outside and these teams would dominate CUSA right know in the same fashion as Memphis did for all of those years. But this isn't CUSA and we're not going to get the same results. I'm not making excuses and I'm disappointed that we lost at home but the season is far from over and any true fan would be looking ahead to how we can win the conference instead of mocking the players and coaches and to those that do that need to find a new hobby since it's a waste of time being bitter and miserable all of the time

RE: We are not in CUSA anymore
Guys the AAC is a tougher league than what you have been in the past few years (stating the obvious, I know). It's not the Big East Cincy has played in over the same stretch, but the AAC is still pretty decent. You are going to have to get used to losing conference games. Heck, in the Big East, you were happy with 10-8 because it meant you were going to the dance and had faced a grueling schedule and won more than you lost. 11-7 or 12-6 was amazing in that conference. The AAC is not on par with that but the point is, nobody is going to get out of the AAC with 1 or 2 loses most years so you might as well settle it in your mind that your beloved Tigers aren't going to be 33-1 every year now. The upside is, you will be better prepared for the ncaa tourney. Best wishes rest of the way except when you come to the Shoe! haha

RE: We are not in CUSA anymore
The reality is the AAC is a tougher league than C-USA and - as predicted by many posters - we will suffer more defeats.
The facts are that it is possible to advance in the NCAA Tourney with less than perfect records. For example, please note the below conference defeats by teams in the Elite Eight last season:
Louisville (4)
Duke (4)
FL (4)
Marquette (4)
Ohio St (5)
Michigan (6)
Wichita St (6)
Syracuse (7)

No lie.
Virginia Tech, Florida State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Tulane, St. Louis (left in early 80's??), Georgia Tech (left in 1980), Southern Miss, South Carolina.
Yowser.
Plus MEMPHIS (State) would play OOC games against UCLA, Kansas, Oklahoma, UAB.
Truly rockin' times at the Roundhouse.
