Being injured in no way takes away how good he was, especially in college and that's what that list is.

He had a solid 10 year career in the league and still enjoys a lucrative endorsement contract. Penny's career, though shortened, was a huge success.

I agree with you. I meant the consensus view would be that he was one of the top 25 players in the history of the game. It isn't because the injuries shortened what he was able to accomplish

Mike Butler should be on list, Dude could ball! Was Penny the only all pro on list?

Larry Kenon was probably the second most talented player (behind DRose) to wear a Tiger uniform.

No he didn't. Josh said that DJ was one of the top five TIGERS in school history....which was speaking of DJ's laying his body on the line and giving everything he had every game. In that aspect, he's not wrong.

Pure player ability...yes.

Penny had a chance to be one if the all time greats at the next level until his body failed him. He is the player Lebron imitates and modeled his game after. The sky was the limit on what he could have achieved until his knees decided to work against him.

This. Penny had more talent than any Tiger of all time.

Finch brought the program to a new level and meant more to its overall development on a National stage......as a coach and player.

I'm old enough to have been a Tiger basketball fan during both the Finch and Hardaway years. In my opinion, Hardaway was more talented but Finch was mentally much tougher and a winner.

Can't agree with any all time list that leaves off these two. Rose: A rookie of the year in the NBA. Played in a final two..Kenon: The ALL TIME rebound single season leader. NO TIGER ever had a better year than Larry Kenon. He led his team to a NC game and averaged almost a 20/20 season. I don't get that at all.

He wasn't listed on Decourcey's list in the OP. He was a Tiger never the less. Tigers would never have played in the NC game without him. He could have chosen another school.
