LOL. My God, that's worth a Once Upon a Time storyline.
The imaginations you people have. The crap you hear that gets repeated.
The speculation presented as fact. It's just mind blowing sometimes.

Came straight from Jason Smith. Grizz think that at least Vernon's and Hasseltine's show should be Grizz focused.

Vernon wasn't working for the Grizz when Jason left. That may be the reason that he hasn't gone back, but the reason he left is much more simple.

Setting aside for a moment the merits (or lack thereof) of that argument, it's an incredibly mean spirited thing to do to a friend or colleague. Clearly, stuff happened prior to that encounter, but if I'm Smith there's no way I continue working with Verno after that.

On another note - very smart move by 87.7 to get the Tigers' beat writer. The biggest problem 87.7 had prior to this was they were perceived as all SEC-Grizz / no Tigers for a long time. If they can flip that script - they can certainly begin to eat into the ratings of 92.9.

I didn't even know there was a Sports Radio station @ FM 87.7.

What're the call letters?

Jason's last appearance on Vernon's show (about the 29 minute mark). Listen and take what you want from it.
