Russell Johnson, who played The Professor on 'Gilligan's Island,' dies at age 89

I was wondering about him earlier this week. I watched him on a season 1 episode of The Adventures of Superman. (The Run Away Robot)


How many remember the original pilot theme song?

thank you for confirmation of what I suspected yesterday
I heard GP talking about this on the radio and then said that they're all dead now. I said back to the radio (yeah I'm that guy) "NO! The girls are still alive!" (meaning the good looking ones. I pretty much figured lovie was pushin up daisies for a while now)

Wow. I had never heard that one.

Just as well... it was bad. Way too long (or seemed like it.)

Here's the one we all know and love...





Interesting tidbit about this song. It's musical meter is the same as that for two other songs:
1. Amazing Grace
2. I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing

That means you can sing the lyrics of one song over the melody of the other.

Amazing Grace sung to Gilligan's Isle or the Coke song
Gilligan sung to AG or the Coke song
Coke song sung to AG or Gilligan
