RE: Huff is going to PSU with Franklin...
That sucks.

Not surprising though. Huff is probably quadrupling his salary.

RE: Huff is going to PSU with Franklin...
He had more ties to Franklin and east coast than Fleck (none before this year).

RB coaches aren't that hard to find.

Also, why is he such a great loss as a recruiter?

He had no connections to Peej's "Six Hour Radius."

Yes, good for him. BIG step up.

But as DB might say - got his "Get out of Jail" card.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's always been the case with WMU. Assistants who have had opportunities to make more money or better their position in the coaching world have always taken it here. Doesn't matter if it's Fleck, Cubit, Darnell, Molde, etc...

Oh NO EA3, you're right. Always the case, after one year they always left.

This isn't leaving to join Middle Tenn St. This is Penn State. Don't read anything into this. If WMU had gone 9-3 it wouldn't have been a different result.

Huff made a good move. Glad he was able to take a step up the ladder. There is a long list of former Bronco assistants out there making good. I think it is a plus to have WMU on your résumé.

Would be MUCH more alarming if he made a lateral move. Penn State is not that.

jubbas is right... big loss for recruiting purposes.

Good question. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Kenny Finley and Leo Ekwoge will be the two I'm keeping an eye on, since Huff played a major part in recruiting them. Not sure if Finley has the grades for Penn St. though.

They all recruit well.

Huff was one of the better assistant coaches when it came to recruiting. McGarigle and Reynolds are also very good recruiters.

No surprise here. I predicted Huff and McGarigle would be gone in the off-season. Great move for Huff.

Huff came from the NFL (Buffalo), so his narrative was pretty powerful with recruits.
