did CMU play a 3-2 zone last year? i dont' remember. i don't like our chances against the zone. we don't any consistent 3-point shooters and Murphy isn't a fan of practicing offensive sets. i'll bet this is a 4 point game.

Glenn Bryant out with an ankle issue, but Chad Bush sounds like he doesn't quite buy that story.

Sounds like GB has an ankle injury and that's why he isn't starting. We might not see him tonight.

I am actually pretty surprised by how good CMU is handling our zone so far.

They have 8 points. I don't think they're handling it so well.

We are doing a fantastic job rotating. The only good looks they've been getting are deep threes.

By handling it I mean they are doing whatever they want in general. Definitely a little different than the beginning of the WMU game.

Ray Lee is sooooooo close to being a solid offensive player.

I swear, if Riley was this aggressive 80% of the time he would be playing in the NBA with his height and skill set.

Ward has been in some kind of funk over the last month. I keep waiting for him to break out of it and it just hasn't happened. It would be so nice if we could get the Ward that almost beat Purdue by himself at some point.

Chad Bush is killing me with this "Glenn Bryant is out with an alleged hurt ankle" business. he clearly doesn't think that's the problem. anyone know anything?

To me GB III and MT III are co-MVPs on this team.

Talley is the straw which stirs the drink and GB III the energy and offense of this team. (BTW, GB had his SportsCenter highlight but he was flushing and playing over the rim all nite vs. Western).

I don't like the Talley/Ross backcourt at all. I don't want Talley running off the ball. I want that thing in his hands as often as possible. I don't know what Combs did to piss Murphy off, but he should be playing. We need someone who's at least a threat to hit a three in there.

And obviously, we really miss Bryant. He'd eat this short, un-athletic CMU team for dinner.

BTW, I'll be curious if the attendance for the men's game will be larger than for the women's game (at noon) today.

The men's crowd doesn't look larger.

i'd love to see Talley work to get Ward a couple easy shots so he can get some confidence back. Like Sam said, we need Ward to get out of this funk.

i feel like Ross is the kind of player that is good in certain situations. he's patient and he doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He has a certain 'old man game' to him that would be awesome if we ran a lot of half court sets. unfortunately, that's not our team.

What I 'like' is when non-EMU announcers talk about Ward being the leading scorer.

According to our announcers it might be Combs' 2 fouls.

CMU band is playing pinball wizard right now. i hate to give them any credit, but this is pretty sweet.
