I guess that's when we find out if UAB goes west this season.
I would think that they would know by now whether UAB goes west and could/should announce it.

I see no reason for UAB to go West already. Delay the decision a year. I would imagine that they, along with MT, due to proximity, will be two of the East teams that get 3 games against the West instead of 2 this season.

RE: Football Schedule Expected in February
Agree, I hope UAB stays East this year and moves next year. but does anyone know how this will work in terms of scheduling. If UAB remains in the East, that will give 7 teams (UAB, Marshall, FIU, FAU, MTSU, WKU, ODU) , with 6 in-division games and 2 cross-divisional. In the West, there would be 6 teams (UTEP, NT, LaTech, USTA, USM, Rice) with 5 in and 2 out. How will they schedule an 8th game for the West teams?

6 teams in the West...all play 5 West games and 3 East games.
That creates 18 crossover games to divide among the 7 East teams. 4 teams get 3 West games and the other 3 get 2 West games.
The four East teams that have to miss playing one East team will only play two of the three teams within that group of 4.

RE: Football Schedule Expected in February
Last year the schedule came out in Feb and then the TV schedule started coming out in May. Big gap between the 2 for our TV partners to decide what games they want. I just wish those games that are sub-contracted out to CSS would instead go to a provider that doesn't black out so many of it's affiliates. There were at least 2 Miner games on CSS last season that were blacked out here even though I have the Comcast channel they were televised on. Frustrating.

I couldn't remember exactly when El Paso found out it would host the 2014 tournament so I googled it and came up with an El Paso Times article that says it was announced in June of 2012. That's 1 and 3/4 years in advance. We may hear about 2015 after the ncaa meetings this week in San Diego. C-USA has their own breakout meeting this Thursday. Maybe that will be on the agenda.

Yea that is what I was getting at, this should have been announced way before by now..I was wanting to see where it is to see if I needed to go to the Sun Belt tournament in New Orleans this year or wait until next year and go to the CUSA tournament, haha....Almost too late now to go this years SB tournament, so I guess I will have to wait either way...

How much advantage notice do you need? The SBC tourney should be easy this year or maybe I should have said easier...for someone that works and has small kids.
If Western is in the top 2 you really only need to plan on a stay for 3 days. Get there on a Friday, leave on Monday. But you can do it in a two day stay in New Orleans and a travel stay over night on the way home on Sunday. And if pressed to get back to work on Monday...it's still possible to drive back without a stop over.
I can't wait for the football schedule to come out and start making my travel plans for our 6 road games...along with extra time and money put aside for game 13 and 14!
