I think they had the number 1 pick in the MLS draft with a guy playing for the LA Galaxy.

hmmm, nope. LA Galaxy have never had the first pick. Last Years Number 1 pick was Andrew Farrell from Loserville. He went to New England.

Not a big loss in my opinion. I think we have underachieved in men's soccer for the past several years.

underachieve is a strong word. I would say that we are about where we've been historically. Could we do better? of course.

We have never reached the point in soccer that we should have. The reason being he only was allowed 1.5 scholarships a year. You can't build a strong program with 6 scholarship players. He did an amazing job with what he had. He also had volunteer assistant coaches. They need to put a little bit more money into it, but it is soccer… you know? He will get plenty of scholarships in Cal. With most SEC schools not having men’s soccer we have a window of opportunity to succeed, it just takes some money. Tigers are losing a good coach, too bad.

He will do well there. They have resources and they put them to use in soccer. Memphis doesn't put squat into soccer. They were lucky to keep Grant so long.

I think he is talking about Gyasi Zardes, who would have been the #1 pick but the Galaxy signed him to a homegrown contract.

I don't wish torn ACLs on players, but that is one annoying dude. Had no idea he went to Bakersfield. He must've been on the same team as Kory Kindle.

There goes our Canadian connection. Hmmm. Richard Mulrooney is already on staff. Jonny Walker is too. Brooks wanted the men's job initially.

Actually the last couple of years were some of his better coaching years. Jodi was eager to get out of Memphis as the kids hit school age. She wanted to go back to Canada but she will have an easier time finding a job in Cali. Great recruiter.

Yup. There is an interview floating around the inter tubes with the guys from Korn talking about their hometown of Bakersfield. Not complimentary.

Exactly, everyone I know who lived there, (get this) NOOO longer live there lol. I think coach figures he'll do well at Bakersfield and then get an offer from one of the bigger west coast schools, perhaps even one of the PAC12 universities. Dood seems to be positioning himself for the dream job.
