Eastern Kentucky
This one is important. EKU was picked to win the east. They have a strong and experienced team. A good game here will give us a nice edge early in the conference regular season race.

Eastern can get hot from three-point and we seem to give up a high percentage of shots from three. Our defense needs to be quick enough to get a hand in their face while they're shooting from long range.

The game is also important since it will be on ESPNU. A good showing on national TV always helps the program. I'm on the road, so I'm hoping the next hotel has ESPNU.

They have seemed to really struggle without their point guard from last year. Mike Dinuno? Was that his name? He sure was fun to watch and I remember him lighting Belmont up last year when they played us in Nashville. Without him, it seems like they are having a tougher time setting up their scoring options.

Huge game for us though. Assuming we take care of business against them and TN State this week, it will set up a hell of a home game against Morehead next Thursday.

Does anyone have any desire to not turn the ball over tonight?

We refuse to look into the post. Drew hasn't posted up against anyone in the flow of play since he played Samford.

Worst shooting performance I've seen from Belmont since I've been a fan. JJ just isn't the same player anymore. Craig is our only playmaker. At the beginning of the year I said it would be Craig's talents that would take us to the next level. Well he has done his part (despite turning the ball over a lot), but I thought he have more of a supporting cast. It seems like we have no consistent play from anyone except him. JJ is the most streaky player I've ever seen. Bunch of TERRIBLE passing tonight along with awful shooting. Can't win those games. And we need to stick to Man to man.

Couldn't agree more. In a game you aren't shooting it well, why not go inside. Blake, Evan, & Drew combined for zero post touches tonight (unofficial stat). Correct me if I'm wrong, but Evan has some pretty darn good post moves.

On the positive side, I think we played pretty well defensively & rebounded it well too.

Best rebounding performance YTD. And yes you are right. Evan has the moves. Looks like he watched some Hakeem highlights growing up.

RE: Eastern Kentucky
Pretty Bone Ugly Loss. I agree that I thought the defense and rebounding was actually pretty good against a team that like us, can score points in a hurry if they are hot.

The turnovers were the key. Not only were there about 100 of them. but man, they were UGLY turnovers. Passes to guys that missed by 3 feet, passes to guys with their backs turned, throwing the ball away to nowhere...just UGLY. I don't know if we were rattled by their environment(their crowd seemed pretty loud), but that is not like us at all. We turn over the ball more then other teams, but NOT LIKE THAT display last night.

First or second this season I can remember where Bradds wasn't much of a factor. Like you guys have already said, as good as we are shooting the 3, we still need the post offense to help keep everyone honest. We didn't have that last night.
