ESPN: Cincinnati among the best 6 television markets for basketball
Louisville, Memphis and Cincinnati in the top 6 for ESPN in terms of metered markets.

Edit; Markets #7 Columbus and #8 Dayton likely tune in to some UC basketball as well.

That what the say. In football the Belk Bowl had nearly the same number of viewers as the Pinstripe Bowl. That is amazing when you consider Notre Dame was in that bowl (and Rutgers who supposedly capture the NYC Market 03-lmfao).

Good info Clifton, thanks for sharing. If the ACC network comes to fruition, I wonder how this could come into to play. Think if the ACC had both Ohio and North Carolina for basketball TV viewership.

Let's be honest... a lot of Cincinnati watches other teams too. Cincinnati was a top 25 market for football last year but UC was 80th ranked in the ratings. Obviously a lot of this town is not tuning into UC.

True.. but that can be said about most markets. I am pretty certain that fans of other teams in this town also watch UC beacuse they love to hate us (conversely I along with some others I know do not watch XU or tOSU basketball but that is another story). I know the city of Louisville pretty well. About 30-40% of that town bleeds blue and there are a ton of IU fans. My guess is that is factored into their numbers as well. The cities in North Carolina are all watching ACC schools-- especially the four tobacco road schools and probably Virginia too. The city of Memphis is watching SEC basketball in addition to the Tigers.

Bottom line this is a feather in our cap we should crow about. It is obvious this town enjoys its CBB.
