Transferring to Louisville costs him a year of earning potential at the next level. Plus he might have a harder time getting as much playing time there as he would here. If he's at UAB, he will be on the field for every snap he is physically able to play.

I'm not saying he should or shouldn't leave. It depends on a lot of variables (that I haven't, and won't, looked into). I'm just saying that, in general, your logic is flawed and has too narrow a scope of vision.
You've only looked at one side of the debate.
Much like when people say "(insert Blazer name) should be first team all conference" when they know nothing about the person that is ahead of him on the all-conference list

As we see with Frazier at AU and a couple of our own at UAB, if any talented player wants to transfer, it will most likely be to a school where they will play in 2014, not "sit out" a season.
