RE: Home Stand Game 1 predictions: Golden Flashes @ Huskies
Bowie is Lee Fisher. He just isn't big enough for the power forward spot. Bowie is shooting 365% of mainly long lay-ups and 533%ft and has 11 more turnovers than anyone. He is rebounding well but his shooting and turnovers cancel that out. When Bowie becomes NIU'S fourth scoring option they will be a great team. Right now, he is the first option and that's not a good thing! P.S. Bowie needs to learn to pass the ball. He forces shots every time he gets the ball, then gets fouled or makes one ft or turns it over.

Well that's part of the problem right now is that there are very few other scoring options. Bowie will be a much improved player when he does not have to carry such a large load. Right now, he has to force shots.

He forces shots because that's who he is. He makes up his mind to shoot and makes his spin move and doesn't see anybody else on the court. He cant stop himself, Highsmith was doing the same thing but he was making his layups.

Madddawgz, Bowie is doing everything you and others complained about Nader. Except that Nader made a lot more of his free-throws.

No way its not even a close comparsion. Besides Nader main problem was that he had the maturity of a 6 year old and pouted If everything didn't go his way, Bowie is not like that.

I think Bowie is a great kid, but he shoots a lot, misses a lot of shots, is a turnover machine and is the main reason the team is a bad free-throw shooting team. The one thing Bowie does well is rebound and so did Nader.

Nader was a liability out there though, no doubt about that.

I kinda see a nader-esque persona in Bowie too, however Bowie is better cause its a small amount.
The problem we have this year is that we almost need him to have it. Nobody else on the team can create a solid shot by themselves, so either we need a good PG (Orris) or a second scorer like we had with highsmith. When one was cold the other would shoulder the load. Baker is a good scorer but terribly inconsistent. He can't be expected to be the number 2 this year.

I don't see any bit of comparison between the two, Nader made everyone around him worse. Is it any coincidence NIU played its basketball of the year late in the season without him?

It's too bad. Nader was loaded with talent.

Loaded with potential but as long as keeps the same loser attitude, he wont be productive anywhere.

I meant in terms of him being a ball hog compared to Bowie doing that occasionally a bit.

I NEVER saw the defensive effort and energy from Nader that I see every game from Bowie.
