MyBB Anyone know if we have one of those
things on the rim that the players pull the ball off of in practice .It appeared that the tension could be adjusted to make getting the ball off harder . I saw it in another teams practice on espn and it looks like it's made to make the players increase the strength in their hands when rebounding . We have had some balls taken away and dropped some balls because of this weakness and hope that can be remedied .

Yes, we have a whole gym full of those attachable rings, for rebounding drills. I've watched the team use them in practice several times.

We absolutely destroyed Temple on the boards and have shown a lot of improvement since early season.

RE: Anyone know if we have one of those
A lot of our rebounds were being stripped because our guys were bringing the ball down low thus allowing smaller players the opportunity to get a hand on it.

Lately we have been keeping the ball high and making the outlet pass faster. Props to the staff because they must have been working on it.

Having guards do so much of the rebounding is a factor here, as well.

Can we get the guys a Bowflex while we're at it? I saw Norris on TV using one and he's the GOAT.

I've said this before and still believe it . If-when we run up on a big 10 team or big 10 type team I think we will get killed on the boards . I hope i'm wrong but only time will tell .

Ah, missed the "league play" part the first time.

If people want evidence of CJP coaching his team, they need look no further than this category. Early on our rebounding was terrible, but the coach has corrected that.

True, in particular Geron has been terrific.

Aha, so that's why you asked about the rebounding rims. I don't think our rebounding issues have anything to do with the staff not knowing what equipment is available to them. Or, not having money to purchase them.

Geron and Crawford rebound much better than their size would suggest. Good thing, since we rarely have more than 2 "bigs" on the floor at the same time.

Aha , I did not know if they were something new that had just came out or if they've been out a while .
Everyone does not know everything as soon as it happens and sometimes even if it's been out awhile some people (me) do not know that .

Crawford and Johnson are keeping our stats up, we are still, IMO, a poor rebounding team and continued improvement there could put us in a really good spot come tournament time.

I agree but think Dom really needs to be pushing to get that weight off so he can be more effective and stay on the court against heavy duty rebounders by the end of regular season . He has good hands around the rim and is hard to move . 20 pounds off and he'll be jumping a little higher also . He could change himself into a game changing player if he works hard enough at it .

I see Dom at 285 as being unstoppable. Paired with Basketball Bodied-Shaq? Fuhgettaboutit.
