Jerry Palm's latest Bracketology
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology
Has Memphis as a 5 seed, playing 12 seed UW Green Bay.
He also has a sense of humor, as he seeded Kansas as the 4 seed in our region, whom we would meet in the round of 32.
UT as the "last four in" 11 seed play-in slot, playing 11 seed SMU.
UConn a 10 seed.
Cincy a 4.
UL an 11 seed.
5 total seeds for the AAC. 4 SEC teams.
FWIW, I think we'll end up as a 3-4 seed.

Depending on which round, I would be ok with that. I'd rather not play them in the round of 32, though.

RE: Jerry Palm's latest Bracketology
I think we get paired up with Southern Miss (who wins CUSA tourney) in the round of 64 as a 3 or 4 seed.
Then someone like Pitt/Oregon in round of 32.
By Sweet 16, it'll likely be a Kansas/Kentucky.
No idea from there.
I figure it's Arizona, Syracuse, Michigan St as locks for 1 seeds and Final Four come March. After that it's WIDE OPEN.

So St. Louis the only relatively close pod site for us?

He doesn't really make predictions, does he? I think he seeds teams strictly based on where they are ranked, unless he has a personal vendetta against certain teams.

I think he starts with a bracket before the season starts, and then just slides teams around on his bracket (hence the + and -) depending on how they've done so far in the season. I don't think projections are included, which is why he had Louisville as a rather bad seed before they lost to us.

Seeding Cincy #4 and us #5 is ridiculous
The sole justification for Cincy is a huge win At Memphis and a neutral win over Pitt.
IF the win over Memphis is so huge as to bump them that high, he is using reverse logic by keeping us below them.
Secondly, our win At Louisville and neutral court win over Ok.St is better. Our overall strength of schedule has been better. Its more likely that there is a little laziness in the predications, and that the conference leader is getting an extra boost based on that fact alone, rather than looking at the overall body of work

I think we'll ultimately be above them, but a big win on our court a week ago holds a lot of away right now.

I understand and a win on our court is huge. But the point is that they are getting a boost all the way to a #4 seed, according to Palm, for beating a team not worthy of a top 4 seed. If he wants to say its that big of a win, then our placement should be worthy of the indication. Also, Cincy has a OOC SOS ranking of 135 and overall 82, compared to us at #58 OOC and 31 overall

I hear ya, it's just hard to argue that Memphis is a better team than Cincinnati after last week. That'll get fixed though, I think.

Keep in mind this is Palm's field RIGHT NOW. Long season; still have 2 months + until Selection Sunday. But the AAC getting 5 teams in would be too sweet, especially if the Cards are one of the LOWER seeds.

Best Wins:
40 Southern Miss

There just isn't anything there.

RE: Jerry Palm's latest Bracketology
If Cincy is getting the No. 4 seed right now, it's safe to say that the winner of the AAC will eventually get that spot or a higher one. If Cincy wins the conference and the tournament, they deserve the seed. Memphis will need to earn the spot, otherwise the No. 5 seed sounds about right. As for Louisville, I think the Cardinals will right the ship and start climbing the seeding ladder. Can't imagine the defending national champion slipping to a No. 11 seed. But then again, Louisville has done little this season to prove its worth.

If the winner of the AAC has 5 losses they will be a weak 2 or strong 3. 6 losses should get a 3 seed.
The schedule of buy games is disappointing to say the least. Last year's schedule was great, with Ohio (76), Harvard (84) and Loyola (98). There aren't any good teams on this year's. The staff was very sloppy, and it is probably going to cost us 3-5 places in the RPI, and 10-15 spots as far as SOS goes.
