It is what it is as they say,but Miami is still getting more votes than WMU with a worse record and WMU swept them over the weekend.

Miami is lower in the pairwise rankings too, not sure why they are still getting more love

Yeah, a bit peculiar, but not unexpected.

If I've noticed any trend in putting together these stats for the past 2-3 seasons, it's that the USA Hockey poll voters seem to let biases influence their picks (more than records) far more than you see in the USCHO polls.

"Big name" programs always seem to get the benefit of the doubt throughout much of the season. For example, Notre Dame often is a couple spots higher than in the USCHO poll. Given last weekend's sweep and the Pairwise, I'd say there's a good chance that's what we're seeing with Miami this week.

In the end, however, both polls always seem to magically align the last couple weeks of the season.

Great stuff - I hadn't seen that before.

I can incorporate into the weekly thread if you'd like.

Let me play around with it - I should be able to add another tab in my master Google spreadsheet that'll auto-chart the data contained in there. People seem to like pretty charts and graphs.
