RE: Stoke's Business Decision
Stokes may very well be the best big man left in the tourney.

He should enter the draft. Players have to strike while the iron is hot.

RE: Stoke's Business Decision
I really think Stokes has a chance in the NBA. He'll just need a coach that's patient and will work with him to make up for the previous year or two, but he can do it. He's come far with self-discipline. One can only imagine how well he'd have done with coaching.

This.

Imagine the irony if the Grizz drafted him to be ZBo's successor.

Huh?

He has 22 double doubles this year and had around 17 last year.

Goodwin played the month of March this year without scoring in double figures. Was that coaching?

I've actually thought about this. Stokes has the body and his skill levels are developing nicely. I've looked at NBAdraft.net. As of yesterday they didn't have him at all in the first 2 rounds. This is a mistake for sure. This kid is going to be a good NBA'er. Might as well be with us.
NBAdraft.net has him ranked the 91st best prospect. That's incredibly wrong.

Why bring Goodwin into it? Automatically trying to compare UTK players to UM players doesn't work on here any more than it does on VN. UTK is simply not going to be a basketball school any more than Stanford is.

Like I said, I like Stokes' chances as long as he gets someone who will work with him and get him up to speed. He's not going to be playing against SEC and low level players overseas or in the NBA. Just to stem off any further silliness, I didn't say anything about Nichols this time either.

That is just common place with that poster to bash anything basketball related at UT.

I think Stokes has developed just fine. As a sophomore, I think several things came into play. The absence of Maymon really left him without anyone else of value in the post to help balance the defense. He was also still very young given that he came out early and had some growing pains. He has really played well since they made a conscious effort to get the ball to him over the past month and that has correlated to the team success.

Richardson is another player that has developed nicely under Martin. Especially on the defensive end. Armani Moore has developed nicely as well.

Player development is not my concern regarding Martin. It centers more around X & O....Not sure he has a staff that makes up for that and instead of correcting that his stubbornness and loyalty may be main cause of strain. Its been said that he would not make wholesale changes with his staff to keep his job (this was before this little run).
