Well, according to Ellis Johnson, he wasn't good enough to start for South Carolina. Johnson is obsessed with the SEC. He is the biggest goober ever to hold the job description Head Football Coach.

Johnson said he wasn't a viable SEC lineman and he was correct. Look at that New Orleans Bowl photo. Is that a lineman?

I walk away from the 2013 season with a relatively high opinion of EJ. The dude knows what he's talking about. It's unwelcome news for our head-in-the-sand fans, but EJ was 100% correct about a lot of things. First and foremost, he was right about conference affiliation and what a drag it is on USM.

EJ made some cryptic statements in a recent interview about trying to tell "them" what the problem was at USM. He was too kind to share details, but I look forward to perhaps one day reading his memoirs. No doubt they will contain many fine tales of Aunt Martha, General Jeff, et al. and their ill-conceived plans of SUNWACUSA dominance.

Is there a way to put a poster on Ignore on this board?

You can just find the nearest preschool with a sandbox, or sand beach, and play ostrich there. Then you won't be bothered by my message, or Ellis Johnson's message (which really isn't much of a message...not many of the issues we face really have anything to do with him). Then, if you're brave, you can pull your head out of the sand every few months to look around and see which branch campus of SLU is in our conference, whether we've installed any new duck blinds or postage-stamp size Jumbotrons, or wired up a cheerleader with a microphone. Sounds a bit pathetic to me, but it takes all kinds, I suppose.

I have no problem looking at reality. I'd just rather deal with it without having to also deal with an ass like you.

Too bad EJ didn't state that at the end of Collins's FR. year, you know, when that picture was taken and when he was playing safety, instead of DE when EJ said what he said.

And EJ never said the words "viable SEC lineman", but he did say "He wouldn't start at South Carolina"

Nice try though.

Well, yall are both idiots if you don't think Jamie Collins would've had a lot of success in the SEC as a DE/OLB.

You guys have to remember, this guy liked Johnson's play call against Louisville in the pouring rain with a halfback pass against the grain back to the quarterback on fourth down with the game on the line. He must be Johnson's son by an affair. That ought to tell you all you need to know about him.

Well, that would explain certain aspects of my anatomy. But no... I've got no connection to EJ beyond the fact that I followed his team for a year.

Collins could be a lineman. That's not his forte. He's built more like a power forward than a bouncer. You can see it in that New Orleans Bowl picture. Yeah, he's bulked up since then. But you can't change genetics.

EJ's "wouldn't start" comment was referring specifically to the DE position at South Carolina. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to rewrite history.

In fact, USM fans were putting words into EJ's mouth throughout his tenure. EJ never said we couldn't beat Nebraska, for example. What he said was that there was nothing he could do on the first series of the third quarter of that game to ensure victory.

Nastybunch, your obsession with that one play against Louisville is weird. EJ did a good job keeping us in that game.

If I could script reality to match my own expectations, EJ would return to USM as a sort of Quality Assurance VP. He'd tell us things like "it's better to have no Jumbotron at all than to have one the size of a stamp", "everyone hates it when you mic up a cheerleader", and "your gym looks like the activity center of a Pentecostal church." We need somebody like that.

Auburn's bandwagon has plenty of room.

Keep USM snuggly forever. Estrogen shots for all eagles.

And there's actually a lot more room on the USM bandwagon than on Auburn's, if you really think about it.

Andre, you are consistent, aren't you. Johnson managed to blow every opportunity of a win that year.

It's quite obvious that while the rest of the USM fanbase has moved forward, you've moved backward.. If I remember you jumped off the bandwagon during EJ's tenure.. So please feel free to go back and ride his n*ts if that makes you feel better. The rest of us have moved on to the future.

The USM fan base has mostly just given up. We almost became one of the 60-70 anointed teams and we blew it .. because we're poor scared rednecks? Or maybe it was bad luck? In any case, the war is lost, the bad guys won, and I only keep posting because I think we came really close to doing something special but ****ed it up, and I've got a tremendous amount of anger about it. I'm sorry that it has to affect you negatively. If everyone who'd attended USM were like you, I'd be much happier.

If I remember correctly you were the harshest critic of EJ and the General during that time, so don't come here acting all high and mighty trying to play Monday morning quarterback. You act like you understand how it all works and you haven't the faintest clue. You're a bandwagon fan like you've called yourself in the past and a troll. You don't care about USM.. You reference the Houston Bowl game and being a member of the Eagle Club but I think it's to make you think you're superior to other fans here.. Thing is, going to all those games mean nothing if you don't support the team. You can pay all the money in the world, but if you don't support them, it means nothing. You're like the woman in Major League that is the owner of the Cleveland Indians. I think you want USM to lose so you can feel good about whatever mindless BS you spew here.

So please keep walking. Go pull for Auburn, LSU, and whoever else because that is where your heart lies.
