There is nothing refs want less than a road team blowout.

You will rarely ever see a home team get blown out.

The Tigers just have to try and keep it close, and hopefully in the last three minutes they will get a fair shake.

Just an excuse. But they are especially bad today. Shaquille gets mugged and nothing. Our guards barely touch and we get whistled.

Refs were no factor. When the dude with the hair refs the game, the one that Shaq runs over, there's always gonna be a ton of fouls called starting at the 10 min mark of the first half. You can set your watch by it. Same thing happened at USF

Rick Crawford was the ref that Shaq ran over, he also reffed the Cincy game last week.

Part of the game. Focused teams take it out of the officials hands.

I thought they let us get away with a good bit of contact under the bucket. Either way, we won. Who cares. Keeps getting old reading complaints about the refs. Even when we win, people keep making post about the refs. Just read all the pages about the goal tending call on thur. We win, get a call to go our way and people still want to complain and argue and want a foul called on the play.

Foul calling was slightly inour favor for first half and ridiculously in Temple's favor the 2nd half.
It could have had an effect on game.

See Louisville vs Memphis. 2012. Then get back to us.

Ask the Saints why the Seatle DB's are able to grab and hold 10 yards down the field and then ask them how that affects their offense.

Refs have an effect on EVERY game. It's actually part of the game, b/c it moves so quickly, and they normally don't have the benefit of replay for most plays.

The refs helped us against Louisville with that non-existent goaltending call. On the road. I don't see anybody here complaining about that one. All you can do is hope your team plays well enough to overcome any inevitable mistakes by refs.

They are a part of the game just as they are a part of the court.

There is a big difference between a bang-bang play and a style or pattern that is obvious throughout the game. The refs determine the style that will be called and are well aware of the impact to the game. Don't kid yourself.

somewhat unfortunately too - I've seen enough games in my lifetime to realize that everybody occasionally has issues with the refs - I am not complaining about yesterday, but to me it was obvious that one particular ref was never going to give us any subjective calls.....the other two were fine

I've been watching basketball since about 1952, so I probably have a good idea of what's up. Yes, refs have a style and tempo that changes from game to game, depending on whom the refs are. That makes it up to each staff and team to make adjustments as necessary.

But you're not trying to say they call games in a manner to try to affect the outcome, are you?

True, there is a wide gulf between a blown call and the systematic undermining (intentional or not) of the Tigers in the 2012 game with UL.
