More a reflection on us idiots calling the ACC this year one of the best conferences.

Right now in Mid Jan it looks like Cuse/Pitt and the rest

Tyler Hansbrough always said that Clemson was the toughest place to play in the ACC. UVa at home won't be any pushover either.04-cheers

Tyler said that during a time when Clemson was really good.

Maybe the better question is where did the Duke hoops team go?

Great win for Clemson, but the "other" team will probably return soon. Clemson home court advantage is on par with the best when a Duke or a North Carolina team comes, but they disappear for about everyone else if the team is not winning games.

We are, at heart, a football school. Baseball would be our second sport, with basketball arriving at third.

I have never seen a period of sustained success at Clemson in basketball. We can experience a 2 or three year period of success (relative to our history), but by then, the coach responsible for the change is usually ready to parlay their success into a better situation at a place that is easier to win.

It sucks, but it is the reality of Clemson basketball.

I think the league has plenty of good teams, Pitt should be top 25 IMO. The Heels have talent but the kids seemed to have quit after the PJ decision, Duke isnt good without Parker being great. FSU is a tourney team, Larranaga is a hell of a coach, BC has shooters when they need them. I still think the conference is good and gets about 6 or 7 teams in the tourney.

Doesn't Clemson do this to Duke about every other year??? I wasn't to shocked to see CU beat Duke especially at home. Duke is a good team, but like all other teams they are starting to fade for what ever reason. Congrats to Clemson for beating the devil out of Duke.

It wasn't so long ago when Clemson had quite a few very good basketball teams under Cliff Ellis and his successor, Rick Barnes. It's a shame Barnes left for Texas. Imo, Clemson was the better program in a superior conference.

There are 18 regular season conference games and we haven't played a fourth of them yet. I think I am safe to say that Syracuse and Pitt will take their lumps. Also don't forget about UVA.

We may get into the NCAAs this year depending on how much success we have. If we play like we did against Cuse/UNC we should be just above the bubble IMO.

Pitt already took a lump from one of their best players going down with an ACL injury. Hopefully he'll be back at 100% next year. Tought break for the kid.

Yeah Johnson is a huge loss for Pitt. Quite frankly, I'm not sure they're as good of a team anymore without his shooting ability. Hopefully someone can step up.
