DC, Kim Dameron, is leaving Tech to be the head coach at Eastern Illinois and LB coach, Jeff Koonz, is headed to Cincinnati.

What's the situation for returning starters in 2014, qb and other key positions?

Off the top of my head:

On offense we aren't losing any quarterbacks or running backs of significance. We're losing 2 or 3 OL starters which are already replaced with JUCOs if they win the starting spots. We're losing about 4-5 WRs but our leading receiver (Sterling Griffin) just got a 6th year and LSU transfer Paul Turner will be eligible. We also have two freshmen and a junior that got significant playing time last year and a JUCO WR former Georgia Bulldog Sanford Seay.

On defense we're losing three starting DL and our MLB. We aren't losing any DBs of significance. K's and P's were all freshmen. Losing our long snapper and replacing him with a recruit from last class we had grayshirt.

Our OL was so bad last year I welcome the change. Our QB play was so bad last year I wouldn't be surprised to see one of our two true freshmen starting next season.

Perhaps improved OL play would improve the play of our returning QBs. Our biggest losses are going to be in the front 7 and we had a pretty good rotation at DT so I feel good there as well as at MLB. I would call DB and RB the strengths of our team.
