I don't either but I'd love to be wrong. He's a good coach.

South Florida was paying Leavitt $1,500,000 a year when he was terminated. They also paid him an additional $2,750,000 when he left. Not sure what Oakland is paying him, but I doubt if he is hurting for cash.

Could a NFL position coach be interested in the UAB job? Of Course. Is one? None of us know. Like I said we had one chasing a coordinator's job with us. We need to stop selling ourselves short. Don't fall into the Bammerham media trap. Not even talking about JL specifically.

because he hit a walk on player during halftime in some sick ploy to motivate his starters for the second half. He then lied about it to his AD and president and pressured players and his employees to lie about it as well. Only a program that's so desperate its willing to shed any semblance of dignity would hire him. For the past four seasons no program in the country has sunk so low. It appears that UAB fans are willing to do so for a coach who went 8-8 in CUSA and 17-18 in the big east. Bartow would be proud

RE: Jim Leavitt
I said earlier it wasn't impossible I just think we'd have to max ourselves out financially and pray a lot to get a big name like that. I think it's smarter to step back and think outside the box. Go find a GOOD COACH who's been successful in FCS or D2, who can field a well coached team and make us competive in the conf. They're out there. Someone that the bot won't bat an eye at. Mackin can take the savings and start upgrading facilities and putting away for that stadium we been wanting. I'm not selling UAB short but I think this is a opportunity to reset our whole plan and outlook. One step back, 2 steps forward. Get outta the mindset that we need a big name splash hire.

if he wants to be a head coach in college again he would take it in a heart beat. he is not going to get a good job anywhere. if anyone is willing to give him a chance its going to be a school at the bottom of the cesspool. there was doubt that leach did what he was accused of. there is no doubt that Leavitt did what he did.

Rehire Callaway and I couldn't bring myself to listen to pre and post games let alone watch the game. Leavitt a tough SOB. I don't care that he hit a slow rich boy. Sorry, Coach Bartow.

Coaching in the nfl isn't a good job?

He's not in charge, though. There are plenty of people around him with authority to be sure he doesn't get too excited and screw up again.

Plus, it's a lot easier to hit a college walk-on than it is to try anything with a grown-ass man that plays in the NFL.

RE: Jim Leavitt
Even if we were interested in JL & could pony up $$$'s, think about his history with the UA BOT.

That in itself would nix the deal.

Next option.
