Gotcha, but I still don't know why people are down on Carr Sports?

Bad taste in our mouth less than 12 hours removed from the end of the McGee era. They hit on one and missed on the other, and that hit might produce a top 25 basketball team next year. Okay batting average so far.

I don't blame the search firm for McGee. I blame McGee for McGee. He was not what he seemed.

What he said.

People tend to forget the list of losers they came up with last time. I think we interviewed McGee, Curtis Luper, Paul Petrino, Helton (of course, he was already here). None of these "candidates" have landed a HC job anywhere.
[/q

Actually, I'm wrong. Paul Petrino is the HC at Idaho.......led them to a 1-11 season this year.

Which I guess means they are all available, kinda. Plus Roddy White of Alabama-Birmingham really likes Paul Petrino.

I think we could probably lure him away without much trouble. Idaho is going to have a blast traveling to all those Sun Belt games, but it probably beats being independent this past season.

Jeff Long at Arkansas (AD at the time) liked him too.

Have you ever met a sibling of someone you absolutely can't stand and thought, "Wow, what a great guy. How are they even related?"

Sure. I've also met a sibling and thought, "Wow. You're just like your sibling!"

No thanks.

We've had a coach that was mentored by Nolan Richardson, a former Arkansas coach, who encouraged that coach to leave UAB.

We've had a coach that was mentored by Bobby Petrino, a former Arkansas coach, who actually hired that coach away from UAB.

See a pattern. No to Paul Petrino. (As if there is a chance in hell he would be considered)

Plus he went 1-11 at Idaho, I'm not seeing his appeal?

I know he played here but RW is an idiot. Don't believe me? Follow him on twitter. And I don't say that cuz of his speling.

A search firm is like a lawyer that you hire to represent you. He can only suggest courses of action he sees as good. The decisions on actions (like hiring someone) are up to the one who hired him in the first place. As one head coach said, remembering his days as an assistant coach, "I never thought about the difference between making a suggestion and making a decision before my promotion."
