RE: Official Game Thread: Northern Kentucky
Good bounce-back win today. Hunter was terrific in all phases. Rashawn continues to be a model of consistency and has established himself as the league's best shooter. He contributed on defense too with 4 steals. I thought KGG played smart, decisive basketball, bullying his way when needed, and dishing on those penetration kick outs. This was as good of an overall game as I've seen from Kinard: 11pts, 7 rebounds, 5 assists (1TO), 2 steals. Lastly, I was glad to see Devin maximize his 14 minutes with 5 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. He plays confident and gives a unique look at point with his height.

RE: Official Game Thread: Northern Kentucky (W 74-65)
Just as lack of defense was key to the loss to Lipscomb, good defense was key to the win over NKU. In particular a 5 minute stretch in the second half from 13:14 where ETSU took a 38-36 edge to a 50-38 lead. The Bucs got stop after stop and 3 steals in that segment that led to fast break buckets, with some nice assists. It took NKU out of their "slow it down and grind it out" comfort zone.

In contrast, a lack of defensive intensity let Lipscomb score 82 and made freshman Josh Williams look like an all-American scoring 34 points. It's good that the Bucs felt angry after that game - they should never have let the Bison hang with them. They deserve to feel a lot better after this one.

Hopefully a CTJ about half assing on defense and being lazy going to the basket. Whatever it was, hopefully it continues to work.

I agree, I don't know how NKU beat anyone they way the looked. They were by far the worst team I have seen them play this year (live or on A-Sun TV) of course I did miss the Tusculum game.
