thru Sunday 1/12
Villanova 4/4
Creighton 8/17
Xavier 31/28

Marquette 55/93
St John's 64/55
Providence 67/66
Butler 82/94

Losses starting to kill Butler's RPI- even though most good teams. Part of it is 3 home losses(home l's count as 1.4 losses).

RE: Current Ken Pom ranks/RPI
RPI's now thru 1/16 games
Villanova 4
Creighton 14
Xavier 20
Georgetown 49
Providence 59
St John's 86
Butler 92
DePaul 94
Marquette 98
Seton Hall 140

OK, raise your hands if you thought on 1/17 Marquette would have a worse RPI than DePaul. didn't think so.

I think this season has gone pretty much as I feared in conference. Just no separation between teams 4 and 10. DePaul has more wins than Butler and St John's- COMBINED. So does Seton Hall. Don't think ANYONE called either one of those. With the mediocre OOS part of the schedules- just can't have that.

Think we're looking square at 4 bids at most. Georgetown still very iffy.... Marquette with a do or die weekend- @ Butler and @ Georgetown. 1-1 and they may be ok. 0-2 and they are 10-9 heading into home game with Villanova. They'd likely lose there putting them at 10-10. They would literally have to go like 9-2 or 10-1 to have a chance. Not liking those odds. PC is interesting- but I just don't think they have the depth they need long term to win enough.

Marquette by the way is very interesting. If they win both- they are 12-7. Even a loss to Nova, but then wins vs St Johns and PC and they are 14-8 and 6-3 in conference. Starting to get dangerous at that point- especially consdidering they would have gone to some of the tougher spots already this year.
