RPI Spike
Before the game we had an RPI and an SOS of 29. We are now at 19 with an SOS of 14. That puts us squarely on the 5 line. All things being equal; we are only going to be underdogs in one more game the rest of the season; the rematch at Cincy.

On a side note; Louisville went from an RPI of 32 with an SOS of 110, to an RPI of 43 with an SOS of 93. Considering that they don't have Behanon, I think if the tournament started tomorrow, they wouldn't be in it. This game was huge for us, but much much more important to Louisville.

Dickie and crew said the same.

Ok, how about a few points about why they do deserve to be in.

Ok, how about a few points about why they do deserve to be in.

Composite ranking of 12 (http://www.masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm)
13-3 record
RPI 35 (according to espn. but looks like not fully updated) still good enough for at large
4-1 on the road / neutral court
10-2 last 12 games
no losses sub 150 RPI
3-2 vs top 100

all things that are taken into consideration by committee. Now throw in the standard High Major bias, and they're sitting on a decent seed and no where close to not making it.

Massey ratings? High major bias? Keep it simple. Let's have the list of good wins.

I think Louisville will make the tourney. Not that many really good teams in the AAC. But the TV guys did say this win was more important for UL than for us. They also said that Louisville was a tourney team, but they definitely needed a signature win.

If the tourney started in 5 minutes, Louisville would be an 8 or 9 seed. Stammers seems to be obsessed with his narrative that they won't make it. Get over it, son.

Reality is a simple as you can possibly get. My opinion on it stems from years of watching how the committee treats teams, whether fairly or unfairly depending on the case. No way in hell would they be out with their current resume.

you're wanting to base your response on a single factor it seems (list of good wins) when I've listed a hand full of other reasons in their favor. I did what you asked. You don't have to agree with it.

UConn fans seem to agree with you Stammers. A thread on Memphis' team but doubts on Louisville also.

Very knowledgeable fans over there and they think that our frontcourt is going to cause them trouble

RE: RPI Spike
now stammers, I'll agree that they are heading down a tough path and if they continue the same way may have a tough time making it, but that is extrapolating out into the future on what may be instead of focusing on the actual results if the selection was tomorrow.

Since you're being evasive, I'll do it for you.

Louisville
Best Wins
28 Southern Miss
78 Missouri State
94 Louisiana Lafayette

Louisville is in fact 3-3 (not 3-2) versus the top 100 of the RPI. Aside from their USM win (which as we know from experience; will be completely brushed aside by everyone), their other 2 top 100 wins are against teams at the bottom of that tier.

Last year Colorado made it with an RPI of 43, but Oklahoma didn't with an RPI of 44. They are squarely on the bubble and the committee would have to account for the FACT that Behanon is no longer with them.

If the season ended tomorrow, Louisville would be in without question. Ranked number 12 although they will fall after this loss and every prognosticator on earth has them at least a 5 seed.
Obviously there is a lot of season left, but as of now, they're in. In spite of their mediocre wins, they're in.

So they are in because they are ranked and because they are Louisville...got it.

yes. Welcome to Earf. The name on the front and the poll ranking matters to the committee

The RPI spikes and, if we're lucky, we'll get pushed all the way to no. 23 or maybe 22!
