That must be a lot of commericals and ads. They get $120 from customer directly, plus they lose PPV revenue from most of them. Where does the other $480 come from?

They re losing revenue now.
Every PPV has people who either record it and offer it for download...or stream it for free for other people to watch.
This kinda smacks of what the music industry is doing...with making downloading music alternatives...by offering digital content that people will pay for.

I'm sure people who aren't paying for PPV aren't going to start paying for WWE Network.

The music business originally didn't have an offering short of buying a CD. People downloaded due to lack of availability. WWE has never had that problem. They offer TV (PPV), merch, and arena entertainment. I doubt the WWE Network is going to add significantly more subscribers than current PPV buyers, which is what needs to happen to make up the difference between the money they are losing in PPV revenue (WWE revenue of two PPVs = six months of subscriptions) and gaining in new WWEN revenue.

RE: WWE Network
I'd actually be interested in this. I came to age during the WCW and WWF Attitude eras.

My grandmother--God rest her soul--was the sweetest lady you'd ever meet, but when Ric Flair came on tv during the WRAL broadcast in Raleigh, she turned hateful. She could not STAND Flair.

WRAL has an archive of a lot of the Mid-Atlantic Championships.
