RE: Monarch Breakfast
I have no problem with this increase. It's worth it. They serve a great breakfast and you get the chance to talk to the players and coaches and hear scouting reports for the upcoming games.

I agree. At $5, they were probably losing money. $10 is fair for a full breakfast and some time with the guys.

RE: Monarch Breakfast
I wish they would change the format to a lunch instead of breakfast.
So much easier for so many more to attend and a great way to invite new blood. Hard to ask someone to go to a 7:30 breakfast that isn't a die hard.

I agree that would be a better idea and easier for most people to make it out to the event.

RE: Monarch Breakfast
And dinner would be even easier. But these young men have class, homework/studying, team meetings and practice to worry about. Breakfast is likely the easiest time of day for these guys to attend.

RE: Monarch Breakfast
I used to go to the breakfasts when I lived in Norfolk. That breakfast time worked best for me. I wouldn't have been able to leave my job in VB drive to ODU, have lunch and be back in a reasonable amount of time. I would imagine, unless you worked downtown, on base or on campus it would be tough for most people to make it for lunch.

RE: Monarch Breakfast
I was too busy yesterday to post. There was a great turnout for the breakfast considering the road conditions were still iffy. Just goes to show what winning will do (let's hope it translates to the students)!

I didn't talk with any of the coaches so don't have any recruiting news to share. Coach Stith gave scouting report for tonight's game and then the 4 seniors were introduced and asked questions. All said how important it is and how much they appreciate fan support. Stephen Vassor is really well spoken!

Jeff Jones made some remarks and then asked a few questions. He was asked about McClinton's status and he said that he's still a ways from being able to play in a game; he hasn't yet fully practiced with the team. He talked about the season so far and again stressed the importance of fan support on and off the court.

That's all my old brain retained from yesterday morning!
