Never have understood why UPS packages go thru so many cities. I guess they have no trucks going from major city to major city. I have ordered products and the package was sorted 5 and 6 times between getting picked up and delivered. I know UPS knows what they are doing but seems like there are better ways.

That helps explain why it takes a solid week to get a package to Oregon and it costs 3 times what the Post Office or FedEx would charge. I know you have to pay a bit extra for them to package it, but geesh!
I once told them I could get in my car and drive it there faster, but I just wasn't in the mood to take a cross-country trip.

RE: #Logistics
I'd be willing to bet: There was a problem with the address label when it left the shipper. And, when (if?) you receive your package there will multiple address correction labels over the original address label. The fact it went to Nashville as point B probably indicates an incorrect zip code. The fact it bounced back to Memphis, then Florida, then back to Memphis probably reflects several incorrect address corrections. Also, not every package is address corrected the night a driver brings it back. Many are placed on hold while attempts to acquire the correct address are made (phone calls, internet search, white pages, Cole directories, etc...), and this adds days to time in transit.
One thing I can assure you: UPS would never 'intentionally' route a package in any way but the absolute most efficient way possible within their network. It is what they do, and they have it down to a science.
(I know this is FedEx town, and some may feel the need to bash UPS. Save it. I'm not here to say how great one or the other is. Simply making observations as one who knows the business.)
Anyway, I hope you get your package. I would be curious to know how "The Lost Package" saga turns out...

Or it was just miss sorted due to the number of sorts the package went thru. If it was address corrected, why did it go to the same city on more than one occasion? You would think the correction would have taken place when it went to the fist incorrect address, then sent to the proper city. Wonder if it ever showed up?
