Conference wins?
How many conference wins do we get this year. I'm saying 12-4 split with Middle Tenn, Lose to Southern Miss and beat Charlotte on the road.

RE: Conference wins?
For FN Bubble® purposes, we need to go at least 13-3 to be in the at-large conversation. If you look at teams like USM and their RPI, they haven't set themselves up necessarily by beating good teams; rather, they have avoided sub-200 teams (2-0 vs 7-0 for us).
That being said, I don't think it's entirely unfathomable for us to go undefeated at home, with a couple of road losses.
I think Saturday sets the tone. If we win that game decisively, we could very well be 20-3 (9-0) when Southern Miss comes to town.

I'll be grossly disappointed if we don't go undefeated. I have a lot of confidence in this team and expect a lot from the upperclassmen.

RE: Conference wins?
rpiforecast.com, using Sagarin's ratings, has us as underdogs in 6 conference games:
@MT (+2.5 points)
@Tulsa (1.2)
Southern Miss (1.1)
@Marshall (0.8)
@Charlotte (4.0)
La Tech (5.8)
None of these games are long odds, and all are winnable. Speaking of long odds, we are 97% favorites to beat UTSA and 90% favorites to beat Tulane. UTSA is the only CUSA team projected to finish below 300.

KenPom.com currently has UAB going 10-6, but has been as high as 12-4. I like 12-4.

We're the last team in if we go 14-2.

I don't see a single team in this conference we should be afraid of.

RE: Conference wins?
We SHOULD go 16-0, but I doubt it'd happen. The only game I'd have us favored to lose in at this point is @charlotte. I don't think we will go 15-1, either, but I think this team is good enough to get through conference with 0 or 1 loss.

RE: Conference wins?
I think we have a great chance to deal very well in conference play. However, let me remind you we struggled with Temple and LSU. LSU looked very bad against Tennessee the other night AT HOME.

RE: Conference wins?
We play to the level of the competition. That's always dangerous - you win 1 or 2 you're not supposed to win and you lose 1 or 2 you're not supposed to lose. Hopefully, the senior leadership will help us avoid the latter...12-4.

RE: Conference wins?
I've noticed a lot of similarities between us and UNC this year. Both teams have fairly good size, athletic players, and weak shooters. We have won a lot of games purely by fighting for rebounds. I like our team, but I don't think it's as strong as some on here do.
I think a ceiling is about 14-2 this year, and a floor is 9-7. We play far too inconsistently to win out in my opinion.
