It honestly amazes me that anyone (repeat: Anyone) is willing to use Lesion Field for a bowl game anymore.

I guess UAB is truly stuck with it, whether they like it or not. But no one else is.

I was talking with someone who attended a SWAC game there last season. She said it has gotten noticeably worse just in the last 3 or 4 years.

...it blows my mind as well... the SWAC has pulled out, and the ASU-AAMU game will probably follow suit...

The city is still railing for a 'MPF' (read: domed stadium), and has even set up a 'moderate' restaurant district to the east of the current Civic Center, which is the area where said MPF is to be built... hope it can happen (it won't, but...) if only to give UAB a new place...cause it's not favorable for us to get an OCS.

The only shot I see for an OCS is that we hire Joey Jones (one of the last of 'Bear's Boys' in coaching) from USA, and he could lobby the BOT for it... he's not a bad coach, either... we are in the market for one...so, who knows.

I always wondered why the San Diego County Credit Union sponsored a bowl on national TV. I'm pretty sure credit unions can't take deposits from folks outside their defined membership class, which almost always means "local."

Maybe they consider it an amenity for the community and good for the development of the community.
