No, NIU wasn't going to win the MAC, but they were going to win several games. They had a great chance at changing the losing culture of the program. Then next year with a stronger point guard(Orris) and another kid that can score at this level(Johnson) and a year under his belt(Aaric Armstead), they could challenge for a title. I truly believe that and I also know the coaches and team felt the same way!

That 's good to hear, particularly your comments about the team feeling positive about the future. It is difficult to change a culture.

I think he is definetly headed in the right direction. Orris is going to be a good one in the MAC and wouldn't be surprised if he comes in right away and dominates. Him and Highsmith are going to be two damn good guards in the MAC. Add in the transfer from Purdue, they will have a very competitive team next season with the current players this season. This is probably the first time I've had a little excitement for the bball team.

Bowie seems to developing nicely.

You want one player who has improved? Travon Baker and Darell Bowie. I also will bet anybody that Aaric Armstead will be much better at the end of the season.

+1000

I think the team is moving in the right direction, and would be moving more quickly if they still had Highsmith this year. Can't blame MM for that. Couple years ago we lost Toler, who was our best scorer. Then last year we lose Nader. Those were different situations than Highsmith but still, we've had no one to build a team around.

With the current roster the team will be able to win some home games but will struggle on the road. Don't look know but the team has improved ft shooting and is leading the MAC, in conference only games at 780%. I expect them to lose again Sunday at BG and win the next two home games.

When someone says don't look know, its obvious they are being sarcastic. Yes, one game is not a big enough sample size(lol)

I was hoping for 10 wins this year but hopefully we're looking at 12-15 now.

7huskie6, I think with Highsmith they win 15-17 and now I would say 10-12 wins.
