Whataburger ?
I heard awhile back that Whataburger was coming to the Memphis area. Does anyone know about this? When and where will it be?

Haven't had one since the location on Millbranch and Brooks closed. Had to be 20 or more years ago.

RE: Whataburger ?
They are in expansion mode, they've bought lots in NWA already, I'm sure Memphis is on the list as well.

I've heard something about as soon as Trader Joe's has a Dallas DC they are headed here, so I'm sure they would be headed to LR and Mem as well.

I ate at that one about once a week for about 7 years.

They are everywhere here in Texas.

There also used to be one in Frayser near where my father lived. I can see the street as plain as day...forget the name.
I had two WABs in Dallas YEARS ago....suckers were so big (think dinner plates) I couldn't even finish but half of one (ordered them without realizing everything is bigger in Texas 03-lmfao)

It was on Frayser Blvd at Watkins...had the big A shaped archway.

there is a twitter handle that was getting some use last year, but it's been almost a year since anything of note has been said on it:

@WhataburgerMEM
It's been a while, but it looks like Whataburger will soon be coming to Memphis. @steveface23 is looking to finalize location!

I only remember the two mentioned here in Memphis.

The one on Millbranch in Whitehaven and the one in Frayser.

I used to eat at the Millbranch one with customers from Richards Medical back in the 80's.

RE: Whataburger ?
we hit it up every time driving through Jackson, MS heading to New Orleans, which is generally a few times a year. I'd actually prefer it to not come here. It'd take away the enjoyment of only being able to have it on rare occasions.

Part of me agrees. Same with In-N-Out Burger. Only get it when I'm in DFW or Arizona/Vegas/Cali and, even then, it's not every time. Want my double double animal style to be special.

Typing this from Dallas, so a very good chance this thread has made me get either Whataburger or In-N-Out at some point this week.

In-N-Out have popped up everywhere in Dallas in the last two years. I tried it a few times.

There must be 100 different hamburger themes in the DFW area.

Rational, if you are anywhere near a Twisted Root, check it out. Best burgers around.

Been a long time since I heard anyone say Richards Medical. Them and Danek were some of my biggest customers way back in early 80's. Both have grown to be major parts of the local economy and most don't even remember those early names.

They were one of our larger accounts. Along with MS Carriers, we had them both as customers when they first started. Grew with them both until they got too big for us in the early 2000s. I met Mike Starnes in a dark and dingy little warehouse, maybe on Florida, in the early 80s when they had about 5 office personnel and he was personally taking care of every detail.
