Good thing he was able to overcome only one d1 offer (WMU) and Fleck's coaching.

Despite everything going on with the program, I'm excited to watch Davis and Wilson tear it up together next year.

If you have talent, you have talent. Nothing to overcome. Since he was the leading freshman wide receiver in the country, why is he not first team?

Since he only had one offer, no one seemed to know he had talent but wmu, even cmu, and his brother goes there, didn't want him. So either Fleck or Cubit gets credit for this undiscovered gem. So, yeah, he had something to overcome.

Fleck offered him.

The previous staff was on Davis, but never pulled the trigger with an offer. Illinois St. was his only offer period. Fleck offered within a couple of weeks on the job.

Fleck is amazing, can't wait for the MACC next year!!!

Well if Fleck gets chastised for going 1-11, he deserves some of the credit for recruiting Corey Davis.

I agree, our WR corps should be a hell of a lot of fun to watch next season.

Heard academics played in a role in the lack of offers. Don't know if its true since he was eligible since he arrived on campus.

As a team overall, yes he didn't do so hot.

But fleck is a proven WR coach, and I guarantee he helped Davis develop there. Say what you will of him as a weirdo and a head coach, but I think you lack smarts if you don't think he could help develop Davis. Fleck was a legit WR during his time at NIU.

He must have spent too much individual time with Davis then, and the rest got neglected. Go give "Peej" web board oral on your board.
