You must not have watched the first half.
Memphis was up by 5 points with 2:00 to go. Cincy took the lead 27-26 with .30 seconds left in the first half.
How did Cincy impose their will the ENTIRE game?
What adjustments at half could Pastner have made in a 1 point game?
Thanks, I will hang up and listen.
We were playing Cincy's game in the first half, but we were making shots. In the second half, shots dried up, then were followed by more shots with poor selection and no regard for an inside game.
Cronin couldn't have drawn it up better.
1st Half:
Layups/Dunks/Tip Shots:
9-13
Jumpers
2-2
3 Point:
1-7
Free Throws:
1-1
I think the whole playing their game and getting outcoached thing is being blown out of proportion. Every gameplan is fine and works perfectly well when a team makes wide open shots. In the second half we were 9-35 from the field. A lot of the 3's that people are complaining about (6 of them) happened when we went down 8 points and were trying to catch up. When Cincy made their big run, we shot 4 three pointers in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, which isn't a huge number.
By this reasoning, if we were making shots in the 2nd half, Cronin would have magically done a poor job of coaching.
