OT---Longtime UTSA Fans
I have a question. Your old offensive coordinator, Travis Bush, has been promoted to OC in Houston. Im curious as to what his offense looked like when he was the Roadrunner OC. Did he use all the motion I saw UTSA use this year? Was he run heavy, pass happy--or more of a 50/50 kind of guy? Was he imaginative---or kinda blah? Thanks for your help.

I love me some Travis Bush. He's a young man with a bright future. IMO he's the father of UTSA's offense. Our current OC was with Bush at Texas St. He's a 50/50 guy if you ask me.

Me personally I'm a fan of CFB motion offenses. Adds a layer of confusion to defense. Watching UTSA constantly moving and seeing opposing defenses lost is pure bliss.

Looking forward to christening your stadium. I'll be there rooting for the good guys.

So Bush is the guy that installed all that shifting you guys do? I liked all that pre-snap shifting as well. It seemed to keep the defense off balance by requiring constant defensive adjustments right up until the ball was snapped. I imagine it causes blown coverages--or at the very least allows the offense to get the match up they want.

I like Bush and he did well with our first-year roster of majority walk ons. It was about 50/50 pass / rush with a lot of option.

RE: OT---Longtime UTSA Fans
Thanks. Bush was originally hired at Houston to coach the RB's. However, he took over as OC for 11 games in 2012 after the OC Levine hired was canned after the opening game loss to Texas State. In year two, Bush was co-OC, but it was really Meachum's show. In reality, next year will be the first time in Houston that Bush will be the actual coach in charge of installing the offense. It will be exactly what he decides it will be. So, I was curious what he was like in San Antonio.

Just a thought, does UTSA really have any longtime fans?

Touché. I've got a shirt that reads "Respect the Pecker" and in small print since 2011. Long time is relative. For the record I've been a Runner well before our football team came along.

You beat me to it. We're in year 102 of football. I guess I feel like an Egyptian listening to an American talk about our old historical buildings.

RE: OT---Longtime UTSA Fans
Utsa used a ton of motion, shifting, options, and trick plays when Bush was oc. It worked and helped utsa compensate for lack of talent and depth until they could get a few recruiting cycles under their belt. Just my opinion from an outside (albeit local san antonio) observer.
