1. Florida State
2. Michigan State
3. Auburn
4. Missouri
5. Oklahoma
6. South Carolina.

No chance. Voters will take the title game into account big time- always have. Oklahoma won't pass a South Carolina team that was ranked well ahead of them going into the bowls. If they were going to pass anyone it would be Missouri. But I don't see it.

It's going to happen. It is the equal but opposite affect in regards to the power given to Alabama concerning polling and rankings. Alabama always gets bonus points so if you beat them then so do you.

Those bonus points will slide Oklahoma ahead of South Carolina thanks to pollsters.

It's going to happen.

I could well be wrong, but isn't it predetermined that the loser of the title game finish #2?

I think #4-#15 is pretty unpredictable. OU beat the "invinceable" Alabama. Missouri had a better bowl win than S. Carolina but lost to them. How much do UL and UCF move up? Does Oregon move up or get passed by as many teams as it passes (since Stanford lost)?

No. Its predetermined in the coaches that the winner is #1.

I think Michigan St. ends up #2. TCU did in 2010 (although the perceived gap between TCU and Auburn/Oregon was smaller than MSU vs. Auburn. We'll see soon enough.

The thing is, SEC is much greater than Big Ten. It's not going to happen. If MSU/Auburn played right now- Auburn would be a double digit favorite.

03-lmfao Really? Are you still arguing the Michigan State being #2 thing? Ok....

Delusional Auburn fans...03-banghead

I don't know any Auburn fan who thought this was possible at the beginning of the year. They were unranked at the start of the year. Just making the BCS CG is an amazing feat.

There was that one person who I saw a pic of a Las Vegas betting slip for his 100 dollar bet on Auburn to win the BCS NC game at the beginning of the year. It pays 500 to 1

Wow what a champ. I need that luck.

I'm going to go ahead and revoke that post. I need the opposite luck.

No way in hell.

Auburn would be favored, but it would be by less than a TD.

IMO with the close loss Auburn likely stays #2, but Michigan State will be closer to #2 than the #4 team is to Michigan State.

9 Stanford
10 LSU or UCF

Stanford's close loss to Michigan State may not drop them very far. I don't know whether UCF's impressive win will put them in the Top 10, though it should.

Much to the chagrin of those who are trumpeting the SEC's demise due to losing a title game for the first time in eight years, the conference is still likely to have three teams in the top five, five in the top 11 and seven in the top 25. 03-nutkick

43 points separate Auburn and Michigan State.

138 separate Michigan State and South Carolina.

AP-
Auburn was 12 voters away from a unanimous #2.
coaches-
Auburn 28 votes away from unanimous #2.

stupid to say Michigan St will be closer to #2 than #4 is to Michigan St. Well duh. OF course that's the case- the huge gap was aways going to be between 3/4.. 43 vote gap between Auburn and Michigan St is huge though in AP- coaches a lot closer.

That's only 31/59 voting them #2. Obviously a number of people put Missouri/and or/South Carolina ahead of Michigan St.

AP writers can't think past the last thing they see.
Coaches respect W/L more than the strength of schedule.
