That said I was Happy to see Vance Bedford was interviewed, He has Strong ethics, Knows the System and the Players like Him. He has had a Top 6 defense the last couple of years and could keep most of the Recruits intact. Also Narduzzi or Morris would work out fine. Would like to see interest from Franklin at Vandy if PSU fall through but it might be too late for that.

The more I think about it Coach Strong laid a good foundation and not real confident that Petrino would keep it up...that why while I would not mind Petrino as HC leaning more towards Chad Morris @ Clemson and also the other candidates like Narduzzi, Mason, Bedford and McElwaine-(someone I like a lot)...

Bobby Petrino is instant ratings and a pretty good head coach. If Jurich really wants someone that wants to be there, Petrino is probably the best choice. Yes he has baggage but so does Pitino.

Pitino didn't have the baggage when he went to Louisville though. He did not do well in the NBA, but he was incredibly successful at Kentucky.

No but Pitino created baggage while at Louisville which is something Jurich could have fired him over. I'd say Petrino has learned his lesson and could create a juggernaut at Louisville.

But unfortunately Petrino can split the Fanbase...plus Bobby is not the best of recruiters while Morris can and does recruit very well and knows the ACC.

Petrino or Morris. Every other name would require us to rebuild, and many wouldn't be good fits to ever get us back (ie-Narduzzi).

RE: Some reasons why many UofL folks want Petrino back....
I'm no fan of rehiring Petrino, but I know he would win games. I think it's kind'a funny hearing people talk about how he would stay at UofL. This is a guy who left us once, has a track record of skipping out, and has now publicly stated he would skip out on the current team he's coaching... after only one season. Some people are super naive. I would think any contract that Tom Jurich would offer him would be so heavy laden with behavior and buyout clauses, that Coach Petrino would be hesitant to sign on. But that's just a guess.

I kind'a like Jim McElwain and even Kirby Smart. I don't know much about the Clemson OC but many UofL fans are very high on him and apparently so is Tom Jurich. Regardless, I will trust the decison Jurich makes and be a fan of UofL none-the-less. I like the University not the coach. They come and go, just like players.

GO CARDS!! ACC 2014!!

I'd think he'd stay the second time for two reasons:

1) Louisville is a different job than when he was there. It's higher profile. They'll be in a larger conference with more money and better chances to win the national title or play in big bowls.

2) It's safe which is what he and his family need.

If Jurich wants someone there for the long haul then it can't be Kirby Smart. He'd leave after a few years just like Strong. SEC coordinators either want to get back to an SEC job or the next best thing (in their eyes).

So what's up with Mark Richt? Saw Him mentioned. He would be King here.

I would love to have Mark Richt. But I don't believe that rumor for one second. And..... it's only a rumor. I don't believe there is any reputable source suggesting this.

Most now feel it will be Petrino now....what is interesting is "IF" it is Petrino...some "say" Randy Shannon as Defensive Coordinator...now that would be interesting....

WKU is interviewing:

Quote:Western Kentucky offensive coordinator Jeff Brohm met with athletics director Todd Stewart on Tuesday, according to a person with direct knowledge of the meeting, in case head coach Bobby Petrino leaves for Louisville.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.
