Means that however many players signed are FRESHMEN next year. Some will stick, some will cut college some will produce if they're used right and all things come together.

Still have to be coached.

I am actually more interested in seeing how some of the Freshman that played this year progress into their second year in the program... and who is going to QB this team.

Yes, knew about those kids leaving a while ago... kids leave programs all of the time. They saw the writing on the wall. Nobody of significance left. What's your point?

I'm willing to bet without knowing anything about them that all of those kids are as significant as you in any respect.

Lots of experience returning, no excuses this year.

Absolutely no excuses at this point... now if we start taking on injuries like water in the titanic... then all bets are off... I still don't see much depth at DL and LB next year...

He didn't flip an OSU recruit. The kid decommitted from OSU, reopened his process met several schools...all way worse than OSU (which tells you OSU pulled their offer). And he chose WMU. BIG difference.

I forgot this was such a small-minded group... recruiting means nothing. Nothing at all. Got it.

Guess we'll see. Can't wait to see this place once Fleck and these recruits start winning games. The spin here will be nauseating.

Injuries aren't an excuse either, next man in, and win. Over the bs.

If we have a lame effort and you guys spin for this snake oil salesman this year, then you're all wet.

Um, not sure what your definition of a flip is, but he de-committed from Ohio State to join WMU. He was high on Fleck all throughout the recruiting process. There was no doubt in our mind that he was picking WMU once he de-committed from Ohio State. OSU did not pull his offer. He voluntarily left. This isn't a guess, it's a fact.

RE: Looks like 100 million
How bad will attendance become if we start poorly without a CMU game to bolster it up?

You don't have to take my word for it. Our subscribers heard it directly from the source himself. No spin coming from us.

Yeah, I'm thinking there's way more to this than your summary here. 03-zzz

RE: Looks like 100 million
In fact, it's a testament to just how good Fleck is doing on the recruiting trail. People don't believe us when we tell them a kid de-committed from Ohio State in order to join Fleck at WMU... or a kid got an offer from Notre Dame, but he's choosing to stick with Fleck/WMU... or a kid is getting SEC offers, but would rather play for Fleck/WMU. I understand it is hard believe, because it's never happened before. But we aren't making this stuff up (Rivals wouldn't allow it for one). It's all there, directly from the sources themselves.

You're right, I think it's not the whole story. Not at all.

I'd say you would be impressed if you heard half the things recruits tell us about their interactions with Fleck (all recruits, including ones not committed to WMU)... but something tells me you wouldn't care.

(01-06-2014 09:01 AM)Broncobelt Wrote:  Just more spin from PJ and the administration. Hiller hit it on the head. PJ reduced the program to one of the worst in the country so now it needs a total rebuild. He was hired to take it to the next level - it did not need to be rebuilt, only advanced (at the time at least). Other points I question:

Didn't we keep hearing that PJ raised $5M?? So now we find out that we spent $3.4M and the Gary Fund normally raises $1M. That cuts the incremental contribution down to $2.4M.

I don't get Kathy's quotes either. She states in the article, " We hadn’t really done a lot to our facility for over 15 years". Yet the Seeley Center, a $25M project, was completed in 2003 and the turf in Waldo was replaced in 2006. I Agree that some of the facilities needed to be refreshed as even 10 years is a long time, but spare the hyperbole. Just the facts please.

And the facts are that we had an overall winning program under the prior staff. It was not at the level any of us wanted it to be, but it was far better than the 1-11 team we saw this season. We were a mediocre mid major program that needed to elevate to get to the next level, not a rebuild program like we are today.

Can we dispense with the spin!!

Bam.

Some common sense and level headedness would be a refreshing change in this scene. This type of talk doesn't help us as a program.

Anyone who has known me understands how much value I place on this recruiting, rating, reporting process. I take it serious when they show up to school, go through practice and we can see where they fit in, until then it's just children interviewing children in my mind.

Hence you buying into these stories and reporting them as FACT so willingly that you're emotionally invested and taking it personal when we are being a little more discerning with all this "information" that you provide.
