JT had a rough time as head coach but excels as the DC which to this point has been Eloss's same problem...sucks as a HC but does good as a DC. USM fans love for JT is probably the same that South Carolina and Auburn have of Eloss.

Simple.........as our AD Coach Holland said after one year with JT (fired him), "I seen enough!"

One thing people lose sight of is coaching jobs aren't fungible goods.

Skip Holtz at ECU. Success. Skip Holtz sitting in a recruiting hot zone at USF. Failure.

If you don't fit the place, the time or the circumstances you won't be succesful no matter how good you are, and you can be mediocre to poor coach but in the right place and the right time and be a roaring success.

It also helps when you are just piloting a system that was already put in place. If JT is successful as the HC of a team I will have a different view of him. Until that happens, I will view him as a good DC and a good recruiter, not a good HC.

Louisville is in need of a HC, JT was very good at getting them all fired up to play.
