End of a dead end dirt road, South 50th in Lawrence.

The road cut through a hillside at my driveway. The constant blizzard conditions filled the cut with 25 feet of snow. 7 days later we heard a plow coming from miles away. Driver George Dillenbach was running straight pipes out the hood of the plow truck. We went outside to see the fun. He barreled into the drift with fire coming out those pipes. There was a sudden hush as the plow disappeared under the drift. After awhile George came swimming up out of the snow.

Fire department sent a snowmobile for him. It was another three days before giant snow blowers from the U.P. cleared the road.
