I think, first of all, that it's not going to happen for a variety of reasons.
But secondly, I also think that Louisville would be making a huge mistake to bring Petrino back as HC. To me, that's just begging for drama.

We are use to drama...if they want to hire an Offensive Coach for me it is Petrino, McElwaine/Morris...just no to Cutcliffe.

Can McElwain recruit Florida? Being out West I can't see the name recognition keeping many of Our Florida recruits. So of the others are respected in the South.

Yes...remember over a little more then a year ago he was Nick Saban OC at Alabama and one of his better recruiters...plus he was on staff here under John L. Smith.

RE: Texas hires Charlie Strong
It makes sense for Strong to leave, Bridgewater is heading to the NFL and he can parlay the last two seasons into a big pay day. As someone who doesn't follow UL too much, I haven't really seen Strong as big PR guy, but I could be wrong on this issue. Head coach at UT, is a whole other PR ballgame, with their own network and time demands, it eventually will burn coaches out. I think Strong is a solid hire, and he will be successful there. However, I think the Longhorn faithful wanted the sexy hire, which Strong is not in minds of the UT fans.

RE: Texas hires Charlie Strong
Everyone has been talking about Strong.

More Saban, Harbaugh and Fisher talk. But Strong has been on everyone's short list. I always thought those others were unrealistic for various reasons and have expected it to be Strong for a couple of weeks (and most realistic people didn't believe Saban, Harbaugh or Fisher either).

That said, wait until the contract has been signed. Nothing can be said about rumors at Texas other than there are a bunch that haven't been true.

Cannot believe a Cardinal is saying that!!

Why not? He left us for the Falcons and I have a feeling he's been quite humbled. Someone is gonna give him a second chance eventually...why not the school they gave him his first chance?

The names I've heard though, should he leave (looks likely but now there's some doubt)

David Cutcliffe (already contacted but fans aren't happy about that)
Bobby Petrino
Jay Gruden (probably gonna get an NFL HC job soon but he is an alumni so it's not far fetched)
Chad Morris
Kirby Smart
Rich Rod
Jim McElwain
Shawn Watson (gross...please no)

add Terry Bowden

The four names the fans would accept off that list are Bob Petrino, Chad Morris, Jay Gruden-(ain't happening, Future NFL Coach) and Kirby Smart.

A riot would happen if Jurich hired RichRod, Watson and Cutcliffe.

Kevin Sumlin and Charlie Strong are top candidates . I just have to wonder how much of their success is the two great QBs . Especially A&M that defense was horrible .

I was sort of hoping that Charlie Strong would end up back at ND after Kelly leaves for the NFL.

Good luck to Charlie at Texas.

ESPN is reporting today that Strong told his AD the he hasn't accepted the offer by UT and wants to talk to the school's president.

Probably a formality.

...or maybe he wants to stay if he can get more $$$ (Louisville is getting a pay raise by joining the ACC). Strong is a good coach but I don’t know if he can replicate the same results at UT. Moreover, I think the better Texas’ players will prefer A&M and playing in the SECond to none football conference than the B12. In fact, UT could be the third option with Baylor's emergence as the B12’s best and most entertaining team. With that said, I think Strong should think long term and stay where he’s at....

This year?

This year, next year or five years. Some day.

Will Brady Hoke get any interest from the NFL?

You may be right. In which case, the bar just got set higher in the ACC and elsewhere. Any successful coach will want more $$. Out of control it is.

We know the answer to that. That doesn't mean that Michigan doomed with him (yet).

Why would a riot happen over RichRod? As much as I hate to admit it, I think he would be extremely successful at Louisville moving forward.
