The usual 75 are here along with about 2X Harvard supporters.

8-5 Harvard @ 15:40. Not much of an inside game, as usual.

Harvard is quicker and more athletic. Officials have taken Obi out of the game with 2 quick fouls.

Anyone know what the issue at the ticket office was? We waited in line for 30 minutes and literally moved 2 people forward. Almost as if they didn't have tickets printed/their cash registers weren't working. Simple solution in the case of a malfunctioning cash register would be to have the employees stand at the doors and those patrons that had cash could simply hand them a 10 and walk in. Instead, they decided to continue "executing" whatever process they deemed more efficient, causing people (including Jeff van Gundy himself) to exit the line and home. Glad we are experts at finding any solution to salvage some ticket revenue from this game.

No. I saw the line was 8 deep at the only window open 45 minutes before tipoff.
Send an email to Mello with what you went through. After the Bowl game ticket situation I am not real confident in this latest ticket bunch.

Good stretch by the Owls. Nice work by Drone inside. Still getting hammered by the officials 10 fouls to 3.

Yeah, I guess showing up 15 mins beforehand didn't exactly help, but it was more the speed, or lack thereof, of the line that irked me. No reason it should take an inordinate amount of time to serve 2 people. I'll email Mello, no sense in simply complaining about it here and expect anything to get done.

Good final 8 minutes by the Owls to cut the halftime lead to 6 in spite of shooting only 3 FTs to 16 for Harvard.

Decent (for Rice) crowd got pass the ticket window and approx 45 students. Of course no concession stand open on the west side.

A decent effort so far, esp considering Obi was on the bench for a long stretch in foul trouble (one of which was an awful call)

They should just put Harvard in the double bonus to start the half if the calls are like those in the first half...the Obi foul was ridiculous.

And on the soapbox again...why play recorded music during halftime when they have paid The Texas Brass to play?

Harvard 11-16 FT, out-rebounding Rice 19 to 10.

Do they at least have more the one register/line open at the concession? In the first few games, the stand seemed understaffed, slow, and lines hopelessly long, though mostly filled with customers from the visiting elementary schools (which is a positive thing). I've tried 3-4 times, only to give up after realizing that it would likely take 30+ minutes to get through the line.

Obi draws 2 HU fouls in the first 30 seconds. Safe to say his 2nd half is starting better than his first.

Owls playing hard again tonight. Cut the lead to 4 at one point and has settled again in the 6 range.

Lead now 13. Rice has gotten very sloppy, lots of turnovers for fast breaks.

We look a little worn down now. Not handling the ball as well as we did earlier in the period.

RE: Rice vs Harvard
We played hard but we just don't have enough offensive weapons. Harvard stepped up the defense in the 2nd half to turn a 4-point lead into a double-digit lead. Harvard was decent - well-coached - but not as impressive as I expected. They don't have a lot of size despite killing us on the boards. Jackson may be back by the next game - I heard the injury isn't serious.
